90s Raleigh frame - trying to identify

Dyna-Tech and M-Trax frames (maybe other Raleigh frames), can be dated from the prefix letter of the frame stamping (under the BB). A=1990, B=1991 etc. For example, my M-Trax is E, making it 1994. Your frame looks like a steel (with aluminium lugs) 2060 or 2070 frame from 1990 or 1991.

    1990 Raleigh Dyna-Tech - Team Colours

Lovely bike. I must get a team colour Dyna-Tech to add to my ballooning collection

    Raleigh Dyna Tech

Not sure the jointing was the problem with Raleigh. I think it was more fashion. The fashion was aluminium, Raleigh didn't really go that direction. That and general decline in UK manufacturing

    Raleigh Dyna Tech

I've never seen a Sentinel without the gusset headtube lug! Looks like a 1991 model in the auction, with DYNA-TECH graphics on the downtube and scripted Sentinel on the top-tube. I think 1992 models were the titanium Diablo, Solaris, Ogre etc. which did have smooth headtube lug. Plenty of...

Raleigh Dyna Tech Titanium going cheap ends very soon.

I'm dubious that's titanium - the headset lug is the type used on 1990/91 models with steel tubes, and the frameset sticker is missing. I reckon it's a respray with some new stickers

    dyna tech identifacation

One would assume so, but I've not got a Torus  so can't compare. What does your 1948 bike have stamped on it

    Another Dyna-Tech owner comes forward...

I've got a 2070 frameset (in a sort of raspberry pinky colour  ) with the Dyna-Curve kinked top tube. I'm guessing the Encounter pictured is a 1990 model as my Encounter has the same graphics; 1991 models have outlined DYNA-TECH graphics on the down tube and model on the top tube. Mine...

    dyna tech identifacation

Re: dyna tech Not sure what you mean by 'wrap', but I assume it's the stuff that's peeling off your frame? That's the lacquer peeling. Raleigh used car-like paint processes, so multiple stages, including lacquer.

    Raleigh Dyna Tech

Yup, that's a Sentinel. The only MTB in the range with the lesser 2055 frameset and twin-stays, others were all monostayed rear. As you say, looks very, very original. That XT shark fin chainstay protector would probably have come with the bike - my Encounter (one model up) came with one 8)

FS - Titanium M-Trax Ti-4000 Titanium MTB Dynatech Immaculat

Good decision to keep it. Having owned/ridden my identical (down to size and RC-35 forks) Ti-4000 for over 10 years, it's one good bike. Spurs me on to do some restoration on my Ti-4000 and get the correct decals for it (it's worn Dyna-Tech decals from new!).

Can someone date my M-Trax Ti then ?

Not yet, but I need to. They are well and truely f*$#ered. Rebound is measured in hours  I'll contact the chap mentioned to get some new bouncy bits. Also need to get the correct front mech - that destroyed itself some years back and I replaced it with a period XTR item, but that's...

Dyna-Tech and M-Trax frames (maybe other Raleigh frames), can be dated from the prefix letter of the frame stamping (under the BB, not the Dyna-Tech frameset sticker). A=1990, B=1991 etc. For example, my Odyssey is B, making it 1991. I've got an identical Ti-4000 with the Pace RC-35 - they...

    My Raleigh Torus titanium

Very nice.... I wonder what the 'FS' stands for after the Torus name? Perhaps Frameset. I've seen other Torus frames with 'XT', presumably sold with Shimano XT groupset? I'd love to get a Torus frame to add to my bonded Dyna-Techs.

    M-Trax duotech 300 advice... (UK ti/cromo content)

Plain gauge steel? Russian titanium? I don't think so. There are stories around about Raleigh using Soviet chemical pipework for frames, but I'm sure this is just sour grapes from rival manufacturers! The frame probably has titanium top and angle tube, with CrMo seat tube and rear triangle -...

    titanium-raleigh-dyna-tech-frame

1992 models: MT3 = titanium main tubes 2125 frameset, CrMo rear triangle MT4 = titanium main tubes 2125 frameset, ti chainstay, MnMo seatstay M-Trax Ti models (at least my Ti4000 from 1994) had titanium top and diagonal tube with CrMo seat tube. I think this frameset was also used for...

    Titanium-Dynatech-X-Lite-Mountain-bike_

You got a good price there.... I was umming and arring on bidding, but I really collect the bonded frame Dyna-Techs, so just watched the bidding end without too much action! Those forks are really funky and will get looks wherever the bike is ridden. The article I've got on them, fitted to...

    Titanium-Dynatech-X-Lite-Mountain-bike_

Reckon the four made refers to this X-Lite demonstrator, rather than the Torus frame and Trimnell forks. I'd say the price was fair, even a bargain, if the light use is correct. That Torus frame is well made, an equivalent new ti frame must be a grand upward. I've a Dyna-Tech catalogue...

Dynatech owner - wondering about reviving this old thing...

I thought so too - certainly all mine are 1 1/8" headsets. The Dyna-Techs are quill, M-Trax ahead. I remember seeing a Team Replica at Claude Crimes dealership in Chester - along with about 10 other Dyna-Techs, they were a big dealer - in late 1991 (that seems so long ago now!).
