Cook Bros ...ect. Japan Buying Advice, Yahoo Auctions, Proxy Services

I have my first parcel from Zenmarket on the way. Worth noting that if you ship via UPS they charge £13.60 for collecting the border charges, so even more than Parcelforce.

    7005 Head Tubes Cracking

I think the Chris King headset is a significant factor. I seem to remember reading on here that they tend to stress the headtubes a little more: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/to-repair-or-not-repair-cracked-head-tube.378869/post-2812087

Help please - Steel GT serial numbers

I don't think the red was the original colour - you'd be looking for blue and yellow: The good news for you (assuming my records are correct) is that you have a 1993 Bravado LE. Seatpost size (if correct) also indicates this. You are correct that the fram was made November 1992. Most the...

    Carbon Fibre

Yes, but that causes end of life problems which I have seen suggested could lead to the EU restricting its usage.

Folders! Foldable bicycles, minivelos and demontables

No, if I'd gone with discs it would have ruined my hub options.

    Carbon Fibre

The EU has recently classified carbon fibre as a hazardous substance. Any views on whether this will have an effect on the bike industry?

My only real regret with my R20 is that I didn't have canti studs added before I got the frame and replacement forks powdercoated.

    Metalwork Advice

Thank you, that's great. I was in Hull on the motorbike on Friday, but I'll try to pop in and have a word with them next time I'm headed that way. Looks like a good option if it's not too small a job for them.

My friend had an ER-5 which I never really enjoyed, but then it was quite different from the SZR660 I had at the time.

I love them and when it came down to it that or an XJR400 were probably second choice (although CCM FT35S and Husqvarna Nuda were also in the mix).

I'm in the East Riding of Yorkshire. I am picturing something slightly teardrop-shaped like this (but hopefully nothing like this 😅 ) but the more elegant the shape is the better:

    Metalwork Advice

I do enjoy making stuff myself, but apart from not having the tools or space I would probably need to make 30-40 before I had the skill to make one I was happy wih. This is the example from the switch listing: but I only need one switch, prefer the location in front of the bars, and ideally...

Thank you for the offer. There's no particular rush, but I'd prefer something metal. Plastic would have advantages, such as being lighter, but for aesthetic reasons I'd like a metal bracket.
