    2000 Specialized Rockhopper FSR rebuild

Not sure on the frame weight but the whole bike comes in around 28lbs so definitely not a climber! Tough as old boots and a joy to ride. Weighs the same as my mates 2010 stumpjumper fsr

1998 FSR and 2011 Boardman HT Pro

yep see what you mean. if it helps with id'ing, my lower stay is standard and is a yr 2000 rockhopper fsr. the upper stay was from a few years later. I don't think it was as late as 2005 but I don't remember. I'm getting old and it's been on there for about 5 years now  if...

1998 FSR and 2011 Boardman HT Pro

I'm intrigued by the problems your having with the later stay mod. I did exactly the same as you a few years ago and have been running a rear disc without issues. Like you I had to take a little meat out of the top of the stay to fit in the shock linkage but once 'fettled' and powder coated...

    2000 Specialized Rockhopper FSR rebuild

    8) cheers for the nice comment. just realised if it helps it was only the upper stay with the caliper mount that got changed. the lower stay is still the original 2000 fsr stay.

    2000 Specialized Rockhopper FSR rebuild

I wish I could remember. It might have been a stumpjumper from around 2004ish but I can't be certain unfortunately as it's been on there for a long time now. Don't think it will help with identification but the stay was originally silver in colour. It was a cheap ebay experiment costing me...

    2000 Specialized Rockhopper FSR rebuild

Gone for metallic grey to tide me over. not sure what I'll do longer term. Straightline levers are on special offer at CRC so a black set of them on the way today. looking to undo all the hard work by throwing it on the floor whilst falling off it at Haldon Woods this thursday

    2000 Specialized Rockhopper FSR rebuild

the original's covered the entire side of the frame and looked like this. In fact this is pretty much what my original bike looked like (same colour scheme.) So I'll end up with something custom if I do add them. Not a big deal as the bike is hardly original now!

    2000 Specialized Rockhopper FSR rebuild

Cheers Stu. I figure there's no chance or getting the original decals. I like the stealthy black but wonder whether it would look better with a little colour to break it up. the rotors are 203mm. Stopping is not an issue

    2000 Specialized Rockhopper FSR rebuild

This is my bike, there are many like it but this one is mine...... I've owned this since new. We have covered many happy miles together and one or two miserable ones! A couple of years back I had replaced the original but shot manitou magnum front forks with some rockshox tora 318's...
