Thanks for the nice comments! I’m really enjoying getting this built up, I should make more progress over next few days. Is it wrong that I’m already thinking about the next build? I’ve got a pair of MAG 21s in the loft that need building up onto something....
More progress... Gil provided a set of replacement decals which I stuck on the Kilauea today. Not an enjoyable experience as you only get one shot at it! That said they make such a difference! I’ve also fitted the brakes, I’ve gone with Onza HO cantis along with a pair of Kona brake levers. I...
A small update on the Kona. Today I spent a bit of time on the paint, it’s been clayed (I had some clay bar left from when I did my car) and waxed. The paint is smoother and has a bit more lustre. I’ve gone with a silver Thompson stem, not totally period correct but I really like them and the...

Re: Mayhem cancelled due to apocalypse
I’m so gutted, I’m building a ‘95 Kilauea which was going to be my second bike for Mayhem.... my first retro build as well! It’ll have to be next year now....
Re: 97/98 Kilauea minty

Handlebars,
Rear Mech,
Shifters,
Chainset and BB
If the cassette, FD and chain are available I’d be interested.
Thanks
I planned on using the Mag21 on my Kona but I’ve gone with a Judy instead. It’s silver with a threaded 1’1/8th steerer 156mm long. I fitted it but never rode it. The fork holds air and moves up and down as it should. It’ll be sold with the pump. There are some marks on the legs but nothing too...
Bought a pair of Judy forks which arrived very quickly and were exactly as described. More importantly there was even some Rock Shox stickers!
Thank you!
