As far as I've always known the left hand collar to be the one that comes off, and the right hand knee is fixed to the bb. But on occasions where things are sized I've bashed out the bootom bracket leaving the right hand collar now loose. It won't affect the actual workings of the bb, but now...

The right hand collar has come off, when it should be the Lefthand collar. Are the collars on the correct way round? Had the the other week, when I realised I'd put the bottom bracket in the wrong way round because the collars where the wrong way round.

Re: thanks for the replies. I have a pair of 1999 Diatech mechanical disk brakes I fancied fitting, but the disc sizes they came with are 140mm and 185mm. they also are IS tabs on them. I could only find one site that confirmed what you've confirmed. https://www.analogcycles.com/true-facts ...

Am I right in thinking that without an adapter on the front or rear, the largest discs I could fit to IS tabs (the brakes have IS tabs as well) are 160mm on the front and 140mm on the rear?

Trek 9000 or one of those models.

I've used a hair dryer to heat the legs of those forks before. I'm guessing the elastomer has turned to mush and goo'd everything up

Ah, I was wondering what they did to make sure the guide was in the correct position, that was all.

Does anyone have the instructions for these? I'm just wondering if I've installed them correctly on a pair of forks I got them with. And if they're missing anything else. A scan or photo will be good.
