Hey Steve,
I can´t measure an original decal as my sheet did not come with the GG stickers. If I compare it to the tubing decal, assuming the line thickness of the surrounding frame is the same on both, it should be 33x25,7mm.
Note that both of them above have an additional outline (tubing...
Dude, so you got it! What an unbelievable find over here. Isn´t there an award for snatching something like this?
Anyway, congrats, and respect for the seller for not pulling out.
Not all Mag 20 crowns are affected. You can look up the serial# in the recall documents and see if yours is one of them. Serial is usually on a sticker on the inside of one fork leg (thickest part just below the seals).
Hi all,
I´m looking for parts for a 1989 Stumpjumper catalogue build. Parts should be in decent condition, but as all my bikes aget ridden they don´t have to be NOS.
1. Stem: This is the version with the brake cable entering from the front/under the stem, not from the top as on later models...
As said in the other thread, the stock tires would be very difficult to find. A period correct alternative could be the Kenda K50 BMX Cruiser tires, they should be available as replicas in 26" and 24".
Best to post a search in here:

And good luck if you´re looking for an original tire. National = Panaracer before Panaracer, I´m afraid even in 26" nigh impossible to find, even more so in 24".
Well I´m certainly no expert like Jack, but going from the steel stem I posted ealier, the mitering on this quill (round-ish) does look different. I also don´t know if there were Cook stems with the cable routing through the stem. I certainly haven´t seen one like this before.
I remember taking the toe straps off after one nasty fall while practicing. 20 meters- sounds about right, with a particularly wide and blocky rear tire, after the 73rd try 😣
Very nice bike, frames in this colour really aged well I think.
How do you like the Mars tires? They look like they could fit my riding profile ("gravel"), but I find it hard to justify the outlay.
Ah, forgot about the brakes 😴. Ok 8sp also have nice shifters and they work a bit better than the previous 7sp. Plus they don´t have the problem of cracking plastic housings.
You can of course also use the road shifters with thumbie adapters. Surely the $$$ option, but man do they look sexy:
Ah now there´s the skinny fork with the single eyelet! Should have known about the Kicker naming, as I recently had the discussion with a friend about Kicker vs Fat Chance. Any pointers on the differences between them? We came to the conclusion it´s the same bike, first named Kicker and later...
