Curtis Racelite - single speed jumper

Awesome frame BTW. Loved Curtis back in the day! Oh re the cable guides and no mech hanger, I think you could get a horizontal mech hanger thingy for these.

Curtis Racelite - single speed jumper

A set of steel cranks will look best (bmx style) look for DMR cranks, or if feeling plush some profile cranks. You can get adaptors (DMR used to do them) but mtb cranks don’t look as good on these frames. wheel wise D521’s are quite tricky to get hold of, especially in ceramic which I prefer. I...

    Hope XC4s on Cannondale

Thanks for the info, doesn’t distill me with huge confidence now! I managed to get 150 and 170 rotors and some adaptors so I’ll see how they go. If no good is it work going for the enduro 4/DH4/M4 caliper? I wanted something of the same vintage and was toying with the shimano XT M755 as I always...

DMR Trailstar 1997/8 differences to TS2

the LT had the massive one, but the Mk2 was a slight improvement on the Mk1. they also did the chrome colours in the Mk2, I had the Black chrome. annoyingly though it used to chip easily and never painted well due to the coating. was difficult to get off too, even sand blasting didnt remove all...

DMR Trailstar 1997/8 differences to TS2

If i remember correctly, the gusset under the downtube to the headtube is bigger on the mk2. I cracked my Mk1 at the gusset to the headtube, and they replaced the frame with the Mk2 which had the bigger gusset which i presumed was a problem they found?

    Dmr Trailstar

im tempted on building up a sidekick. At the time I had my trailstar, i regreted not getting the side kick as it looked so much better. Not sure how it rode though...

    Dmr Trailstar

Very cool. I loved my trailstar when I first got it. Decided to re-build it a few years ago and remembered how heavy it was! The thing hated manualing too, but that may have been the really heavy DMR forks on the front. looks really good in yellow, I like it!

    Wanted Hope bits required

Well i have two options: 1. Use the IS to IS adaptors and try and find some normal 145/150 rotors for the rear 2. Find some Hope bulb hubs with/without the spider and get the discs and spiders. Option 1 is best as it will probably work out cheaper. there are a set of wheels on ebay at the mo...

    Hope XC4s on Cannondale

Hi all, I have picked up some Hope XC4s to go onto my Cannondale F900, however the discs are the wrong size. Looking online it seems the rear's used a really small 130mm disc, and the fronts 150mm? is this correct? looking at 130 discs and they seem pretty rare, so maybe the IS to IS adaptor is...

    Marzocchi 30mm seal kit

Everywhere seems to be out of stock of the 30mm seal kits. Are they stopping these? Surely I would have thought they would keep supporting the older forks for the retro scene. Even Enduro seals are all out of stock. The one place I can find them is a website called bikeinn.com which looks like a...

What is this jump bike frame?

Doesnt look beefy enough to be a spooky. To be honest i think its a cheap chinese alu frame. The dropouts are really thin and look like the cheap easy to get hold of mech hanger, even the DDG were beefier than this. the flat section under the BB looks familiar but i cannot place it for the life...

    Party like its 1999

Hi All, I have been lurking here for a while, mainly looking at everyone’s lovely bikes and also helping out where i can. I have recently sold both my 29er's (production Privee Shan GT and On One Inbred) and decided to go back to the dark side of 26". I loved the playfulness of some of my older...
