The bars, as stated in a previous post came from a 1991 Trek Single Track 950. (stripped down to frame now) Front brakes came from this Trek too. The stem I found in a spares box, can't remember where it came from but it was a good fit for this build. The U Brake came from a 1991 GT Avalanche...

That's a good place to start, and I would guess that having a clear coat or two will help protect the decals.

It's not weather proof, it's prone to fading or smudging if exposed to the elements, unless you are using a different kind of ink. Any tips or recommendations will be appreciated, I am just speaking from my experience. I am always willing to learn something new!
