Repaint? The "flames" definitely look quite fuzzy compared to yours.

I did think about it and would have paid a bit more than that but a couple of things slowed me down: - The bottom bracket area looked a bit ropey. - I would have got castrated. No ifs no buts...no nuts!

Can't answer your question directly but it's more to do with area than quantity. Six piston calipers often have smaller pistons. Hopefully @Markybeau might be able offer a definitive answer for that application.
