Set of 4 Pug 1.9 GTi alloy wheels. Just been stripped and powder coated red (RAL colour code 3020). I had to spray the centre caps myself as they probably would have melted in the oven. They are a slightly darker shade of red but you could always spray them again with a closer shade...

When it works it works well though. Wonder why they shortened the dogbone? I like the fact that they simplified the design over time, but from things I've read the newer design might not be as durable.

I got to look at my '99 XCR yesterday, to my surprise the dogbone is 73 mm.

I'm home sunday so I'll measure my xcr.

I've had my i-Drive apart this afternoon, the dogbone measures 64mm centre to centre. I also measured two spares I have and they were the same size also. While I had mine apart I had a look at the bushes and it looks like the BETD bushes are doing just as good a job as the original ones...

I've just fitted the new crankset, moved the derailleur up the post a little and it works just fine! Happy days...

They look like the BETD ones but different colour. The ones I found are the same as the original GT type, and half the price as the above. When my new cranks turn up later this week gonna have my dogbone off and see how the BETD bushes are holding up to use. I have enough of both types of...

Good news all round then. The bushes I found are 4mm deep whereas the originals were 6mm. I found a bike shop whos website said they had 1 original bush at one store and 2 at another but after contacting them several times about them they said they couldnt find them and took them off their site!

the ones i've found, the dimensions are the same only theyre not quite as deep so the two sides wont quite meet in the middle if that makes sense? Should work fine though. I bought one to compare against some originals I have for myself. Sourcing new original GT ones seems to be impossible...

According to this table I've found on Bikepro.com my M739 is only good up to 42t/44t but XTR equivalent will work up to 46t/48t: http://www.bikepro.com/products/shimano_tables/shim_fder_table.html Perhaps I need a newer model mech?
