Macretro May Ride - Kinnoull hill & deuchny woods, Perth.

Well now reclining in my bed in some degree of pain. No bust bones just bruising and possibly some strained muscles. You don't bounce and recover like you did 20 plus years ago. Saying that though the 3 odd miles of mountain biking I did was fantastic. For some reason I do like techy stuff but...

Tyre choice semi gnarly or very gnarly, utube suggests its a gnarly root Fest but it does look fun😎

Macretro May Ride - Kinnoull hill & deuchny woods, Perth.

No thanks Keith, my average bike frame costs about £25😁 Also for off road I much prefer aluminium so that what little feeble power I put down actually goes to the back wheel. Principal reason I stubbornly like U. R. T. Y-frame full sussers over better designs, my feeble power is not lost through...

    Ever Ready

I have my original set haunting a box of spares in a shed. Dug them out recently to discover an old set of alkaline batteries had leaked and eaten the copper wire springs. Now they are even more useless than when they functioned😂

    But is it art?

As has been said above and by my art graduate brother(once you knocked the pretentious bull poo out of him) art is art if you can come up with some bull poo explanation of why it's art using lots of long pretentious words while keeping a perfectly straight face and looking hurt and innocent if...

Retro @ York Cycle rally 2022

I will be there but not with much in the way of bikes. Recent events have reminded me least I forget that I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and so driving down Friday post work is not a good idea. I will let the train take the strain and bring my ghetto modded Bickerton Cyclosh### folder bike with...

And do you realise that Velo will never go properly modern😂

    Vintage Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op Catalogues.

I had a Contour 300 I bought in 1996 which had a most impressive spec list compared to other brands at the time. A friend owned the Contour 500 which was top of the tree with a Reynolds frame and full higher end Shimano groupset, I was very jealous 😁

Macretro May Ride - Kinnoull hill & deuchny woods, Perth.

Whisper it, but I have it on good authority that the old curmudgeon Velo has a bike with dial adjusted fork travel, disc brakes and Mavic Cross Ride wheelset. Yes I know that seems unlikely but I swear it's true......... Oh cripes, here he comes, look natural, nothing to see here...

Perfecto for me and surprisingly I now have bikes with decent forks and brakes if still retro😁

Quantum Racing Team - A mtb frame I have from a company I've never ever heard of?

Yes everytime I try a search for a Quantum mtb up pops a Klein Quantum race bike. Gorgeous though the road bike is, it's not what I am looking for:rolleyes:

Gates Gates Gates! Saturday 23rd July 2022

I will try to be there but for me the distance is a big ask. I have decided 2022 is operation be happier so that needs me making the effort to try and do stuff I keep putting off. Certainly if I am there I'll be on a "Gate", for Gates, Gates, Gates:LOL:

Quantum Racing Team - A mtb frame I have from a company I've never ever heard of?

Anyone ever heard of Quantum Racing which says on the frame its part of the Rigida Group. I can find zilch on the Web about them but presume it may not be a manufacturer ever officially imported to UK. There is nothing remarkable about the frame, its just a mass market made in Taiwan 7005 heat...

Reyt-pack September 2022 (Downhill vintage rigid race Yorkshire style)

Thinking about camping at least on Saturday night as I'll need to be rested for homeward journey to Edinburgh on Sunday. Not sure as to Friday as I have to work until lunchtime before setting off so might break journey on way down then show up Saturday morning. My bikes been ready for a month or...

MacRetro Ride in April - Loch Leven circuit provisionally Saturday 9th April, 10 for 1030am start.

After doing the write up I had what I thought was a wee hour long catnap. Six and a half hours later I regained consciousness 🙄 and further in my bamboozled state I invested in another bike frame off ebay😳 I think OCP's retro modded Marin was the inspiration so another U. R. T. joins my stable...

The Aftermath...........errrr well there isn't one really. All four of us were there on time, naebody lost. Keith, Jock, John and me. Two auld retro bikes, a Kona with P2 forks and lots of nice bits and a...... well let's just say the later models from this mark are definitely BSO, one retro...

Thanks Keith, I shall aim for there for 10 ish. Bringing a proper retro bike just because its built and ready to go, not because it's retro😊
