Bars, stems, headset, Scott frame - some cheap, some free

Hi MCsanandreas - It measures 18" centre to top. I have to admit, I never built it up but my Dad did and it was OK for him at about 5'10 if that helps at all.

Bars, stems, headset, Scott frame - some cheap, some free

A bunch of parts that came out of the long forgotten side-shed... all collection only from Bournemouth, as it's not worth posting most of it. Beers welcome in exchange for the "free" bits! 1. Club Roost IDB150 bars in champagne and 3TTT Forge Ahead stem (1"). Usual afe-related scuffs, but both...

Tail wagging the dog - what frame fits a 26.8 seatpost?

Re: Crikey - quite a lot of choice. I was clearly ignorant about this size. I thought everything was 27.0 or 27.2, with road stuff being smaller. Perhaps that's a bit more modern standard. Does seem there's a trend for American frames to be 26.8.

Re: I don't understand?!? Oh.... Trimbles have a 26.8 post. Great left field option!

Tail wagging the dog - what frame fits a 26.8 seatpost?

Re: Thanks all - to finish the story, here's the seatpost in question. It was a normal X-lite (I think ZX seatpost) which were usually silver with a choice of colours for the clamp. My brother bought this one and it broke at the joint between clamp and post. Knowing X-lite were local (in...

Tail wagging the dog - what frame fits a 26.8 seatpost?

Re: Sorry, I'm prejudiced against GTs. I had an xcr I drive 3000 which was horrible and 3 karakorams which were nice but all of which got stolen! Not technically GTs fault but I still won't buy another!

Tail wagging the dog - what frame fits a 26.8 seatpost?

Re: Thanks all, some very good options there! I'm not a fan of shims, and I'd love a Yeti FRO, but not sure I'll find one in my price range, but a Rocky Mountain sounds a good bet. Will check out if an old Blizzard takes this size. Cheers!

Tail wagging the dog - what frame fits a 26.8 seatpost?

Hi all, I've done a lot of lurking on this site, and far too much buying too. I now have a genuine, if a bit weird question... What nice old MTB frames take a 26.8 seatpost? I ask because I have a lovely and possibly unique mid-90s X-lite seatpost which has a lot of sentimental value, and...

Paul SS wheelset, Reynolds wheel, kona P2, disc gravel frame

I'm looking to clear some garage space having bought too much during the boredom of being stuck at home. More to be added as I dig them out and photo them, but so far: Reynolds MTN 33C Carbon disc 26" Rear Wheel - Built on a DT Swiss 240s rear hub and DT swiss revolution spokes. Runs true with...

17.5" Dave Yates 853 (sadly stuck seatpost)

Re: Someone had made quite a mess of the clamp around the post in a previous attempt to remove it, so I've gone with the very lazy approach of: 1. Email Dave Yates (they've been really helpful so far) 2. Strip down frame and send to him to remove post and full respray. 3. Spend my spare time...

    I was robbed! IMPORTANT ADVICE!

Re: Hi Savagepower and ocris, That's a really crappy thing to happen, sorry for you mate. I'm posting because I genuinely wasn't aware of the rule about PayPal gift here. Is it a hard rule or best advice? I ask only as I don't want to cone across as dodgy as buyer or seller of bits and it...
