    And today I did......

Re: Kaiser , had a look at your photographs. You've got a good eye and obviously a good bit of skill with the camera and editing software. What kit are you using ?

Yet another frame ID - Bob Jackson ?

Re: Finney , thanks for the pointer. A quick Google suggests it is a Dolan / Ribble 653 frame. The 3 digit frame number seems to tie in. Despite the fact it is light and they get a good reputation for ride quality they don't seem to be of any value so I don't know whether to spend any money...

    And today I did......

Re: I had a very relaxing day doing what I wanted to do instead of what others wanted me to do. Still struggling with the rib injury sustained at GT a month ago so no riding. I stripped a Bob Jackson(?) road bike I got cheap from Gumtree but I'm not convinced it's a BJ...

Yet another frame ID - Bob Jackson ?

I picked up a Bob Jackson locally. The paintwork is poor and there's surface rust so it wasn't expensive. It came with a titanium stem , modern Campagnolo Xenon 10sp shifters , Shimano 105 front mech , 10sp DuraAce rear mech , 105 threaded headset , bottom bracket , 10sp Campagnolo crankset ...

Re: Re: I've had several of the steel "Joe Murray" Konas. 2 x Fire Mountains , a Cinder Cone and a Lavadome. All rigid with P2 fork. They are fast and lightweight. Really nice to ride natural xc . But prices seem to be on the rise for good examples. My son has a 2000 Kona Roast which is a...

    Iconic Vintage Bicycle ?

Re: I wouldn't pay £60 for it never mind £600. Just random bits out the spares box thrown onto a low end frame.

    Iconic Vintage Bicycle ?

Looks like a standard Europa to me with some slightly more modern bits on it. The last Europa I bought , about 2 years ago , cost me £35. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Raleigh-Ti-Eu ... 1532217149 Apologies if this has already been posted

Re: XD Driver ? WTF ? I had to look it up. Clubby , you reckon the expense is worth it but how often , if ever , are you likely to need a 10t ? I don't know about everyone else but I have rarely used the smallest cog be it 11 , 12 etc on any bike I've had . I'm never on the small sprocket...

Festive Frolics GT - Monday 28th December

Re: Velo , as usual I bow to your enthusiasm for the retrobike and your ability to ride old rigid dogs up and down trails that many of us struggle to negotiate on more modern machines. I loved the looks and comments you got when folk saw the luggage rack , cantis and thumbies. :shock...
