All these "modern" bar shapes are very popular with some if our customers - they will spend ages telling you how brilliant they are, then appear with a different bar a few weeks later. It's all part of the fun of cycling. I'm forever telling customers the perfect riding position doesn't...

    Lightest Steel Frame?

There's an acceptance of a certain level of dishonesty in advertising that varies with period and nation/culture. That's certainly a surprising weight to achieve with the equipment of the period and function pictured. Is it a coaster brake? Sadly I'd need to hang it on the scales to believe it😪

    Lightest Steel Frame?

Experience tells me not to trust a manufacturer for bike weight. Or most other features... I suspect they've taken the tyres off🤣

Cast top, usually found on TB p2s Stamped bottom, seen on PG P2 Both these ones are Spinner. Triple butted became rare by the time the higher end models were fitted with suspension as standard - I wonder if they had become aftermarket only. There's quite a difference in ride quality.

If you own a bike with those bars, you can't call them "bull horns" unless you've also got an amazon plastic trispoke wheel in a pastel colour and trousers that stop just below your knees. And brogues! Mavic Pursuit are the most stylish imo

93 Rockhopper Shimano Cues compatibility advice.

He appears to review Linkglide purely off the photos and press release🤣 He also uses the words "cockpit" and "brifters"🤯 There's some link glide on our shop shelves, I'll get it down and examine it in the flesh.

    Wanted Specialized Stumpjumper / Rockhopper

Mid 90s m2 stumpy, a bit modern? Just came in the shop last week. But I was imagining it was one of the last steel models the OP was after.

Surly corner or moloko? I wondered about a Jones H bar, but the marketing copy made me vomit: "The Jones H-Bars are the perfect upgrade for a bikepacking, touring, mountain, road, gravel, commuting, city, or just about any other type of bike!" FFS Also it doesn't have additional prongs for...

    Raleigh Randonneur 708 1997

It's reasonable that a tubeless tyre should cost more at a given quality point, as it's got to be airtight, a great fit and a sealable material. And then when any new product comes along, the prices jump at least 20% because of both development costs and a declining margin on the previous model...

How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

A fahsand? Should be more though, you could get lucky. Bars look a little droopy though - bottom section parallel to the ground is a more vintage curved track bar look.

The inner Hipster struggling to get out? Some of the modern bikepacking flat bars have extra horns in them you can mount your barcons on. 719s are tough rims, more all terrain, but 217s originated in mtb racing

Then those wheels will build a competent tourer. It's worth greasing the hubs though if the grease in there is 20 years old? STIs are great on a well used bike, but the bar position needs to be right and all the components need to be properly compatible. These 2 things don't happen a lot...

That's like "twenty-seven five" prices on a seven hundred!🤣 We sell quite a lot of vittoria tyres, but not many over £30. Over that, I often reach for the panaracer. Marathons are popular with us but horrible to ride on🙄 I think if you're riding home from a night shift in a&e, not getting a...
