1992 Claud Butler Antaeus 653 Magnum FINISHED

Re: 1991 Claud Butler Antaeus 653 Magnum FINISHED That worked well, have had some tyres looking like that in the past with the white bloom appearing to be crumbling rubber and not release agent or any such stuff the explanation made logical sense to me. Carl.

    Almega dx

Seen there work before, always of a very high standard. Is it for riding or will it remain a garage queen? Carl.

    Diamondback Apex - 1990 I think

Not sure if it’s the camera or the angle but that head angle looks awfully steep, has it been in an accident? Carl

Raleigh Frame probably 501 or K2 tubing

I saw that, stays suggest either 501 or k2, the horizontal dropout confirm early 501, probably 89 as it has canti brake and not u (which they had in 88), dropouts changed to vertical in 1990. K2 were all vertical dropout.

    Unknown MTB, probably Raleigh?

Looks like a low end Raleigh Mustang/Lizard/Cobra/one of many other later low end bikes frame. Dropouts are the clue here. I don't think I've seen any other maker use that stamped out cheap drop out. Carl.

Re: The blue is a standard ral colour as I had some bars powdercoated for my team frame a few years ago. The yellow is more tricky as it isn't in the ral catalogue. Carl.

Re: The voyager is lovely, be even better with the original campag on it. The diablo looks nice too. Be careful with the mtrax 350, they are very light and good dailies but a friend has had 2 now and both have cracked at the head tube, so keep checking it. Carl

Re: Have a look at eBay there are 2 '88 couriers on there now with 2 different frame types, one is an earlier lugged and the other a later tigged frame. Carl

Mystery solved! 1988 yes, but not a green Muddy Fox

Re: 1988 green Muddy Fox... (frame no. CR879200) is it an Araya? XCD4050 is Courier Spec, dia compe U is Courier spec. Those stays are known as 'shot in' stays not fastback. The 88 Explorer had fastback stays. The '88 Courier (white/purple frame), which was tigged (there are some out there...

    Muddy Fox Courier components?

Chainset is definitely not from the bike, the one you have there is either 300lx or 200gs which were 1990 onwards. I think the rear wheel has been replaced as the hub should be a large flange sansin like the front. 1987 courier didn’t have a group set as such it was still one of the old skool...

    Tamiya RC Cars

I guess that back in the late 80s cats dominated the club racing scene where now they are one of many competitive 4wd buggies. Carl
