What bolts for xt m750 v brakes?

Never had a pair of the M950 brakes, but very similar from the pictures I looked at. Very small head on the bolt to clear the linkage, and also a very small washer that is easy to loose. The little shoulder is the important part on the M750 though. The shoulder locates the arm as it doesn't...

What cantilever brakes? (Acera X Vs Deore LX)

The LX brakes have a metal back plate sorta thing where the spring comes out. In my experience they don't ever get exploding spring housing syndrome like cheaper Shimano brakes. The Acera are better than the truly cheap models for sure, but I think I've seen some issues with those. The plastic...

Help! - Issues with vintage Marzocchi bomber fork

The Icetoolz or Pedros Dh tire levers are the business for taking seals out. https://www.amazon.com/IceToolz-Tire-Lever-Aluminum-Carbon/dp/B00RN4KGLY

Marzocchi Z4 2001 replace steerer tube

No shim for 1-1/8". For some reason they only made 1-1/8" crowns, so the 1" needed a shim to fit the larger hole.

Marzocchi Z4 2001 replace steerer tube

If it has the pinch bolt crown it is that easy. The only real complication is a 1" steerer will have a separate shim you have to reuse. The steerer can be tight fitting, I've had to give a few taps with a soft mallet or block of wood. I can't recall the bolt torque, but it's lower than you...

I have a Research Dynamics with pretty much all the same details. Not anodized though.

    Thomson

The posts do seem to put up with unreasonable extension better than most. Pretty much the only other reason to get one is needing an odd size. I think they stopped making all the weird sizes, but it was either them or Kalloy for a long time. Cane creek has had shims for anything I've needed...

    Refurbishing Mavic Rims

I don't think you can do much with a rim with eyelets. If I recall you can't go putting any other metals in the anodizing bath. The finish itself probably wouldn't be that hard to replicate, it's just some kind of hard anodizing as opposed to color ano.

    Santa Cruz Tazmon 1995/96

Searching for cyclocross front derailleur pulley will usually come up with something. Very common for them to have an old school top to bottom pull converter pulley to keep the cables out of the mud.

GT Xizang vs Lightning - Differences

The GT cable routing is always interesting. Does a bit of housing liner tube just hang through the ring after wrapping around the seat tube? Or is it that extra thick tubing they used? There was a question about that arrangement on another forum and I had thought it was a bodge, but was...

Shimano HG-71 chain - quick link removal

I've never used tools for that style of quick link. You just bend the chain sideways with your hands.

    V Brake bosses VS arms

Brake arms don't seat at the base of the post, it's at the step slightly above that. On that frame it's where it transitions from red paint to bare metal.

    Brake question v brake adapter

I have a Banshee frame with almost identical looking mounts. Mine did come with the extra bits. I don't have a picture, but they are kinda cheesy cast metal things. Meant to adjust between 24" and 26" wheels.

Burly-ish forks for 94/95 FSR frames?

No replacement bushing are available, nobody has done reproductions either. Generally not an issue though, I've never seen one with actual bushing play where you could rock the fork back and forth like a Judy. Also no replacements for the cartridges, so you do need to start with an okay-ish...

What have I got here ... Santa Cruz Clone?

Santa Cruz resisted the replaceable hanger for a long time. I had a 2002-ish bullit and it did not have a replaceable hanger. Later I think they did an entirely bolt on dropout of some sort. Santa Cruz was at that point made by Kinesis USA if I recall. I wouldn't be surprised if that thing...
