Hello all! Happy new year :) I have finally found what this byke is... it is a Francesco Moser - Big Bear and it should be 1992, I guess... Checked measures, parts, etc., and it all matches (even the Ambrosio rims and fork). So, finally haha! Thank you all, with all your comments I have been...

Re: There is also this other number on the BB 4989. And the rear rim could be the original one that came with the bike, an Ambrosio Montana rim with Deore Lx hub... but I'm not sure.

Re: Re: Hi! Thanks for all the info. I have some more details about the frame. No replaceable hanger. Has an extra number at the bb which is 4989. The bb inner diameter is 35 mm and 86mm wide. It is a 16" frame. The seat post is a Kalloy 31.4. The fork CR-MO Tange MTB. It also has an...

Just one thing before I get rid of that paint: Does the SN help to have at least an idea of some possible brands for this bike? Only to reduce the search area a bit :)

Re: Re: Thanks! I will do so. Let's see if it gives some more clues :) I have also seen similar things on the Al-Mega from Alpinestar (the none E-stay model from 1990) but the stays are thinner and I think they are not square-shaped.

Re: Re: Thank you! I have seen the Calois. Don't they all have square shaped cantilever cable stops? (I don't know how they are called). This model has the cable stops of the top tube down right and mine up right. :(

Re: Thank you all for your help!! I really appreciate it. Was having head akes with this frame. It seems to be the Allu O 91 then... right? I will get rid of that paint and leave it "naked" with some nice Orange Allu O decals, etc.. Make a new/old light MTB. It would be my first, so any advice...

Ha! Great :D I think it is an Allu O, too. Perhaps the previous owner decided to switch the cable stops or as it was for Europe they did as with cars and switched things hahaha. Sorry bad joke

Haha, no idea why, but the one who added those ugly braze ons could know the reason! But I think the cable stops were not moved. If they were, it was a very clean and perfect job, as they look exactly the same as the original ones. By the way, this bike was bought in the Canary Islands...

Re: Re: Yes, that fork in fact looks the same! Nice :) Though, I think it was not the original fork. Who knows!

Yeah, there are some details that do not exactly match, but some that are exactly the same... And yes, the headtube is 1 1/4, in fact, it had a Girvin Flex Stem 1 1/4".

Could be! My fork is an Axisu E28, does that tell you something? I don't know if it is the original fork. :(

Please Help me identify this bike: Possibly Orange

Thanks! :D I'm still thinking it could be an Orange Aluminium O 1991 or some other Orange, but I will investigate other brands. Look, here is an Aluminium O 1991: download/file.php?id=81367 This one is similar, also the seat post is identical. The one you have posted I think is 1992, or?

Thank you, Cheshire! Yes, I think we will have some fun figuring this out hehe. I have some images of the serial number A91013963 (not sure about the second "1" could be "7") and an extra small code also in the BB difficult to read. And those horrible braze ons... they look like a modification...

Please Help me identify this bike: Possibly Orange

Hi! I have bought this frame with some Specialized decals... but I'm almost sure it is an Orange (very similar to the 1991 Aluminium O), but it has a small little difference (or more) as the cable stops of the top tube are on the right side and not left. :( It has a 1 1/4 headtube and some kind...
