Longer BB Axle with Alivio MC10 Cranks on 1994 Scott Sandoa

As above. Working out the existing chainline will help. Sheldon says 47.5 - 50mm for MTB triple. If it's less than that, longer axle. https://www.sheldonbrown.com/chainline.html

    Spa Cycles Aubisque build

That's really nice. I've nearly finished a Spa Audax (with a change to steel forks) and like the frame a lot.

    Karma Karma Dave Quinn 501

This is very generous and very tempting. (And I have a 531 Dave Quinn mountain bike in the same size already. I can barely imagine the international acclaim that would almost certainly result from being someone with two Dave Quinns!)

    Steerer extensions.

Sorry for the semi-hijack but I've been looking at these and think this may be relevant... Do these BBB quill to ahead adapters have a minimum and maximum insertion? E.g. does it have to go in as far as the spacers shown, or is the minimum less? And / or can it go in further than the spacers...

Folders! Foldable bicycles, minivelos and demontables

That is the one, indeed. I was tempted but steel, simplicity and rim brakes led me to it's cheaper cousin.

Folders! Foldable bicycles, minivelos and demontables

This thread has a lot to answer for! I've just bought one of these NOS mini velo frames from eBay. There are more, and they have a really nice Moulton-esque aluminium alloy version in stock too. Looking forward to it turning up and then working out how I'm going to get / adapt some forks to...

Tips for getting tyre on the rim?

+1 for the Spa Cycles video method with straps or zip ties to keep the tyre down in the centre of the rim, and keep working it down to 'stretch' it towards the bead that needs to come over the rim.

Building the bike nobody wanted. 1991 RidgeRunner.

Ok, I get it now. That makes for an interesting challenge. It looks like that place I linked to will custom-make screw in bosses. Or there are M9>M6 thread reducers available, if you can get U brake bosses in M6?? (But M9... why?! Same for M7 bolts in some stems... I just don't get it.)

Looks great (again) but horrible thing to happen. Hope you're ok now. Really nice colour. Good job you had the paint!

Love it. Best backdrop for the bike, no.3 for me. (Though no.4 is best scene.)

Building the bike nobody wanted. 1991 RidgeRunner.

I like Kogas, I like this frame and I like the way you're building the tension! It does look like the crack (if crack it is) is being caused by the seat post bolt itself so your theory seems sound. And... Schrödinger's seat post 👏.

    Koga Miyata Ridge Runner (1986)

An update after a few recent changes: 1. Previous wheels swapped for a set with XT730 hubs with Mavic MA40 rims. These are narrower and lighter. The others I've earmarked for a more utilitarian about-town build. 2. Chainrings swapped for a set from Spa Cycles. These are now round, which I...
