Cheers mate, I’ll take your advice there. I did get some silicon grease for the Hope piston seals and I have some oil, it’s 10 weight which could be a bit heavy? I’ve been told by my motocross riding lunatic friend that if I mix it 50 % with 5 weight that will make the 7.5 specified by...

    2000 Marin East Peak build

Hi matey, it’s not bad at all. It’s definitely slower than a rigid or hard tail on anything other than unpleasantly bumpy lol but i found it great on rough terrain. I don’t have any full suspension experience so perhaps it’s worse than a cheap supermarket bike or it could be superb lol The...

The front mech was temperamental and rusty so a matching xt m770 was found and fitted along with some different forks. 2001 Marzocchi Bombers , I was hoping they were 100mm but they’re 85mm which will probably be ok.

It will definitely look cleaner without the rim brake mounts. I’ve used 3M adhesive cable/hose mounts before and they’re pretty good.

    Konas, lots of Konas.

What a collection you’ll have ! Your shed will have to look like a Kona dealers from 1990 as well. Decor, posters, a glass cabinet with shiny bits in all from 1990. Like a Time Machine, old cathode ray tv with a video of MTV playing….. sorry I got carried away then 😂

The bolt spacing needed for these Carerra’s is 30.0 mm. I think the Brompton requires 25.0 mm or there about. This muqzi one from ebay (£10) has 3 holes at 15mm spacing so perfect for this. You can also get the frames from eBay to attach to any bag of your choice for about £10. I have a nice old...

    2000 Marin East Peak build

I decided I couldn’t have a Specialized stem on a Marin, it just seems wrong and after finding my old silver Thomson x2 I had on a fixed gear bike I thought I’d try it out. Looks better to me so I thought I might as well put my Thomson bars on that I’ve had stashed away waiting for the right...

    Drilling out cable stops 🛠️

I've filed out the cable stops on a couple of Kona's and 6mm Hope hose slides through nicely even after powder coat. You can even get an insert for the drilled out stops to reinstate an interrupted outer housing should you ever feel the need to return to original.
