Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

Thanks. Very pleased with it myself. Is it me, or has the crack even shrunk a little? Before: After:

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

I got the ring and to my shock it was too big. Damned. It was exactly 2mm to wide. So my first thought was to bin it and send another 30 euro on a new one. Then I thought to fill the space with some material I had lying around, a 1.1mm thick door latch plate. The idea was to heat the ring and...

1995 Rocky Mountain Suzi Q - Canadian Unobtainium

This must be the best color for Rocky Mountain bikes ever. Sadly they don't do this anymore.

1993 Rocky Mountain Blizzard - Build Thread

That's a color I have not seen on a Blizzard. It looks great.

    GT LTS DH 1997

Awesome build. I borrowed the V1 version of this back in the day from a buddy of mine as I was waiting on a warranty frame. It rode dang nice for what it was, I even took it to a bikepark in Germany. I did have Votec dual crown forks with 100mm (or was it 120mm, I forget) travel on it. I was sad...

Another one about Risse Genesis shocks

Found this one, hopefully it works, or I can adapt it to work. 18 euro shipping though...

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

I measured the bottom headtube and ordered a stainless steel ring to go around it. Apparently, pcbway.com is also able to CNC machine parts for you, I always thought they only did printed circuit boards (PCB). I chose the R430 stainless type as it appeared to have the highest tensile strength...

Another one about Risse Genesis shocks

I think the thread size is M8. But it's really shallow, like only 3-4mm deep.

Another one about Risse Genesis shocks

Used my Rockshox pump to inflate, which worked. I needed to add some more pressure (150 psi was not enough), but even with careful insertion and ample amounts of grease, the port is now not airtight anymore, it leaks air. Would it be possible to convert to a schraeder valve?

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

Image dump. I polished the rear and got some XTR shifters. Apart from the ring around the headtube to stop the crack and servicing the shock, she's finished.

Got some XTR shifters with the display. They shift like a dream.

I finished the Edge. I just have to repair the broken stuff like the shock, but it won't change visually.

So it's like the Rockshox Mag21, right?

Another one about Risse Genesis shocks

I think the scratches you see are not real scratches, at least I cannot feel them and they are not real obvious on sight. I think the flash of the camera just highlighted them.

Another one about Risse Genesis shocks

In my Rocky Mountain Edge TO I have a Risse Genesis shock that doesn't have the correct pressure and also there's air in the oil chamber. I found some manuals about how to service the shock, but I don't see a valve to deflate the shock. I took some pictures of what I think should be the valve...

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

Anyone know how to put some air into this Risse Genesis shock? I don't see any schraeder valve, just a small screw with a hole? Do you fill it using a needle, like mag 21s? /edit: Found some documentation, but it appears my air valve has broken off. I'll post pictures this evening. Would be a...

Rocky Mountain Edge 1995 'shelf queen'

Finally finished refurbishing the Magura brakes. I disassembled them, spray painted tem red, assembled and bled them. I initially wanted to get a new hose, but I just reused the old one. It was still good enough. I'm just missing the decals and one of the quick release bolts. I'm using modern...

I thought the MTB tape was 25mm, so should fit well.

    1989 Rock Mountain Blizzard Slope

I have the XC4 model. They are on a bike I'm not going to ride much. And like you, I'm a bit afraid for punctures. I don't want to shell out another 80 euro to get a new tire. But I struggled enough getting them on that I would just ride them, just maybe not that hard as I ride my modern bikes...
