Very nice. This gives me some inspiration for the Veloce estay frame I have hanging in my garage.

BoTM Bike of The Month July 2024 - time to vote

Congrats Roy. Not my pick (I voted for the Ibis), but a very nice bike anyways. I'm a bit bummed I got last, but there were so many great entries. I was also a bit surprised the Yeti only got 1 vote more than my bike. For me that one is a solid 2nd or 3rd place. Maybe it's the tires?

BoTM Bike of The Month August 2024 "USA Special" - now taking entries

Yeah, when "USA made" was a synonymous with quality.

Y’all got my username wrong ;) Tough choice indeed.

    Got my first Pro-flex 756

I had a 856 back in the day. Worst bike I have ever ridden :) (no, really). It looked nice, but I couldn't climb technical stuff on it that I easily cleared on my previous Zaskar. Sold the bike after owning it just 5 months, got a new Zaskar. not sure if it was the Rockshox Judy DH's I had...

    Rocky Mountain Element LTD 1999

I bought this bike new in 1999, it was a special frame color of the Element TO that was blue and white that year. Only 25 bikes were made in this color and I only ever saw one other like it 'in the wild' (Houffalize World Cup race weekend in 2004 I think) and a few months ago I found one for...

    D8mok’s Zaskar obsession thread

This one has the handmade decal, although it's a '95 I believe.

BoTM Bike of The Month July 2024, now taking entries

I'll post my Rocky here as well, but I don't think it'll have much chance against the 2 Ultimate's zonoskar, 1995, Rocky Mountain Edge TO Build thread: https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/rocky-mountain-edge-1995-shelf-queen.475516/

    1993 GT RTS 1

That looks like the drawing indeed. I have an RTS with the rocker, so I'm not sure how well this will work.

    1993 GT RTS 1

i think the bake cable goes over the roller to the right cantilever brake (sharp bend) and the small wire goes from the left cantilever under the roller to be clamped with the "B" thingy. Later RTS models have a rocker assembly there which makes it way easier. Or get some V brakes :) It will...

Rear shock - is this fixable?

Also check if you don't have coil binding. To me it looks like the coil is compressed too much and it will bind (individual coils touching each other) as the shock compresses.

    91 Zaskar build

I hope you didn't toss those forks in the bin. Great looking Zaskar, there's a lot of them out there lately.

    96 Zaskar LE Build

The zaskar was inspiration for my forum name :) I love them. I need to get one myself. Been 'collecting' Rocky Mountains lately, maybe venture back to my roots again would be a good idea. I started MTB on an old Raleigh, but soon promoted to a '93 Zaskar.

Story of a summer love. GT Zaskar 1996

Thanks. Off course I should have never sold the Zaskar, still regretting it. But alas the Syncros Revo's broke, as did the Votec fork (I did get replacement GS4's, but those were even beefier and completely black, which didn't really fit the bike anymore) so that's not something to fuss over...

    1991/1992 GT Zaskar (completed)

Crap, now I want to get a Zaskar too. Problem, there's a ball burnished Avalanche for sale locally with the same top tube brace as this Zaskar, so before 1994 I think when they went with the gusset under the bottom tube. But no funds :) I had one of those Avalanches in 1994? before I went to...

    1992 Rocky Mountain Cirrus

With @franx's bike, the paint is really yellowed, so it's a good idea to remove it. But it's really hard to replicate the standard Cirrus finish as it was raw aluminum (including tooling marks) covered with clearcoat. Anything you do to remove the paint will mess with the raw aluminum, except...

    1992 Rocky Mountain Cirrus

I had the same reasoning for getting a Cirrus as you did (except I'm not Canadian). The Yeti's are unobtainium. Manitou 4's would look cool.

    1993 GT RTS 1

Very nice, yes. I have a 16" as well, but with the alu rear end. It's probably one year younger.

Story of a summer love. GT Zaskar 1996

I used to have a Votec dual crown fork in my Zaskar. I cut out the blue part of the decals to match my yellow Magura rim brakes. Would look great with a yellow Judy as well.

Story of a summer love. GT Zaskar 1996

I had one of these BITD. A really nice bike, but a bit harsh ride.
