98+ BoTM 98+ Bike of The Month March 2024 - now taking entries

Woodsie’s 2010 Norco Team reissue. I believe Norco only did this reissue the once, based on the classic Norco Team bikes of the mid late 90's. This model came with slightly more relaxed geometry. I bought it as a frame only and built up into Hardtail Party mode. Rides like only Reynolds 853...

I like the decision to go for a Brodie decal placement on the top tube. Looking forward to seeing it!

BoTM BoTM November 2023 - Rider Special - time to vote

Whaaat? Well that has come as a very nice surprise. It was a fun afternoon out on what is one of my favourite riding bikes. I do love those Brodie inspired, late 80s, Rocky Mountain Avalanche and Blizzard frames, with the sloping tt. Thanks to everyone who voted for the Rocky recreation entry.

BoTM Bike of The Month November 2023 - "Rider Special" now taking entries

Woodsie’s 1988 Rocky Mountain Avalanche I spent the afternoon pedalling around trying to locate the spot where this photo was taken for the 1989 Rocky Mountain catalogue (which was in B&W). The colour image (below) was featured as a thumbnail in the 1991 catalogue which is why it’s not very...

BoTM Bike of the month September 2023 - Time to vote

Congratulations Mark, a worthy winner. It was great to see you enter the Lavoie and it got my vote. That photo of Maurice has two Lavoie bikes hanging off the back of my car, one made here in Whistler (late 80s) and the other 30km North, in Pemberton (early 90s). The larger one (closest to the...

    Show your K2

I was inspired to go take it for a spin despite the size discrepancies. I don’t live near enough to K2 to get it in the photo so Whistler Mountain will have to do.

    Show your K2

Here is my 1991 Comp 91 Ultralight. Full XT, although I've already swapped out the XT pedals and hubs/rims for another project. I originally bought it as a donor bike and some of the other parts are destined for pastures new. It’s way too big for me otherwise I’d keep it. A K2 bike in a ski town...

    1993 (?) K2 comp 1 restoration

Here’s another K2 leaning against a garage door. As far as I’m aware it’s a 1991 model, Comp 91 Ultralight as it says on the tin, xt components (I pilfered the original xt pedals and hub/rims for another project). It was a local to me find and interesting in so much as my first skis were K2 Comp...

Oh yes. "The Brodie ride" haha. Anytime Roy, anytime. A wee loop and some cold beers always works for me.

    Visiting Canada

I’m up in Whistler. Drop me a message when you have an eta. Some good recommendations already mentioned. Lost Lake has great old school trails, it’s where I take my retro bikes. It’s a nice short walk from the village too.

    1986 Brodie (115)

What a save! Nice work Nic. So great to see this early frame. With that 73 degree head tube angle I'm not sure it's gonna ride trails too well. Looks like you might need to take up bike polo :)

    All things Canadian.....

Yes. Yes it is. My favourite of the Rocky decal styles 😀

    All things Canadian.....

The dotted shadow was on the late 80s font. 1986-1989 I believe. The decals changed for the 1990 models.

    All things Canadian.....

Beautiful work. Love it. I'm interested to know where you got the decals from? I noticed they have the original dotted shadow whereas some I had made a few years ago had a block shadow which is incorrect. Cheers.
