    I'm completely stumped

Re: Picked up the bike. Complete mixed-bag of a build. Frame appears to be Canadian, 1 1/8" head tube, and strange spiral weave on the carbon tubes. Serial # BA18869. Seller claimed that it was raced professionally in the early 90's. Any Canuks recognize this bike or the "D" logo? Thanks!

    I'm completely stumped

Re: I'm thinking the frame is steel/bonded carbon, and it appears to be nicely made. I can only think of a few builders that had a similar steel/carbon design: Yeti C-26, Spec Epic, Mongoose (welded carbon), ? Hoping to take a look today.

    I'm completely stumped

I'm thinking about taking a look at this bike today, mainly because I just can't figure out what it is. Not a Stumpjumper, Zaskar, Mongoose, Giant, NP....or the usual suspects. Seller claims it has a mix of XTR and XT, which I believe (m900 shifters?). Brakes look like Dia-comp, in any case...

Re: Looking like a super classy build. Any idea how much the frame weight? I'm curious if the "XC" designation meant it is built with a lighter weight tubeset or different geometry.

Team Lavender Paint Job - Where Do I Go?

Re: The original Team Lavender was based on the "Milka" purple chocolate wrapper, with a red tint pearl clear coat over the frame. The red pearl really brings out the lavender nicely and should be considered when going for a accurate repaint. Cheers.

    Yeti homage

Re: Great concept and colors, but I agree the downtube/chainstay lines are off and ruins the concept for me. And once again the fork decals are in the wrong orientation (text should always read horizontal ). This really bugs me as a retro freak. Otherwise I applaud the effort, i'd ride it!

Older Marin Frames - Country of Manufacture?

Re: Re: I'm not a Marin expert but I can say that the early Titanium frames were US made (Merlin built), Team Issues from 1991 were built by Tom Teesdale (32 frames made), and I suspect the early Program tubed frames were also built in the US. Please correct me if i'm wrong of if there are...

    89 Smokey Pink GT

Unfortunately I sold this bike last year. Last I heard it made it's way down south and is currently cruising the trails in sunny California. The bike wasn't a lightweight but the frame details and paint were outstanding.
