Dave Yates Reynolds fillet brazed 853 frame. XTR 950 MTB

I prefer the presumably post-'97 Caygill, but I think 900 notes over the top: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/235795036269

3 hours to go. I like the frame and forks. Be fine with any medium level parts. Tempted if I could be bothered stripping off the XTR stuff.

Very nice. Black SIDs is all it needs. But I'd ride it with the red ones.

    Raleigh Royal

Just so. My Focus road bike triple runs 9 spd rear STI but with an ancient Suntour bar con for the front. So much easier on my hand/wrist/fingers than a triple STI.

Have to say for once that it should have been left in a barn....a derelict barn preferably!

Each to their own. I had a v-brake model and loved it just for its looks! Only downside was the cost of replacing the big pivot.

    Kona Kilauea 1997

Given the valuation and comments (though I don't think forks are "wrong" length!) never tried to sell it! It might as well sit here, with an occasional dry weather outing. Sorry!

BoTM Bike of The Month September 2024 - the vote

Worthy top placings - would have been Brodie for me if not for the '95 Cinder Cone, my first mtb! Congratulations to all.

^ Canuk: "....when your average club rider can blow £3k on a Sunday ride carbon bike, clearly it's not a lot of money to an awful lot of people." Yes, there will be a few like that even on this a.m.'s CTC Easy Ride, but I guess some will be on the C Card, not cash. And many of the riders have...

    Univega Aluminium 702

Not sure of the year, but with canti hanger I guess <'97? No credit for build - I wanted a winter tow-path/bridleway rider and my mate put it together for me. He's owned it from new, apart from the twice it was with me about 12 years ago, 1 winter as a s/s and another as 1x9. Now I need all...

Easiest decision ever. There's one there for which I'd pay twice as much as any of the others, so got to be IT!

    Today's Ride

Test ride for my "new" tow path winter warrior. I've owned it twice (I think!) about 12 years ago, one winter as a s/s, another as a 1 x 9. It's spent its life with my mate or me.
