Daniel Rebour - Illustrator. Who's your favourite cycling illustrator/Cartoonist?

A little more research about Rebour, he worked from home for the most part (I reckon he couldn't afford an office) and lived a stonesthrow, 500m from La Defence in Paris in this ground floor of a kinda shabby looking 60's block of flats. He married and had one daughter who now administers his...

    Getting rid of a mouse

I thought about humane traps for about 1 day. Once the thing had chewed through my favourite properly expensive rucksack, bit through the cable and light fitting in the garage (so it could more easily get in) and run up and down the dry walls next to our bedroom from 2am-6, I too got into the...

Daniel Rebour - Illustrator. Who's your favourite cycling illustrator/Cartoonist?

Le Cyclo seemed a bit of an authoritarian regime, though each edition they did let Rebour do some cartoons. Here's one with a quick critique of 'standardisation'. Though to put the words 'standards ' and French component manufacture together seems pretty futile 🤣 Translation: Standardisation...

Mint Sauce. Now that's a proper blast from the past. Anyone know the artists identity, or is it a cycling ' banksy' Definitely Rebour

    Lugs, lugs, lugs!

An example of the fine finishing done by Les, this one on a Holdsworth.

That Malacuti is lovely. My pal who toyed with ordering a Les Rigden before he died absolutely regrets not going for it 😲

    Getting rid of a mouse

No more Mr Mice guy! Took the bait soon as it got dusk. Wham! I put four traps out, 3 with sardines only and one with sardines and a bit of chocolate in the doorway of it's final rest Mrs Canuk is very relieved. I think (I hope) that's it, only been here afaik ten days, not really enough time to...

    Getting rid of a mouse

I made boxes for the traps, and baited the outside with sardines oil. I remember when he first visited it was a bin bag outside with an (empty) sardine tin inside. Hopefully fish will be it's downfall. No more Mr. Mice guy! 😲

    Getting rid of a mouse

Today I'm gonna try what my neighbour suggested: sardines. Evidently peanut butter ain't too good liking. No more Mr. Mice guy!

Daniel Rebour - Illustrator. Who's your favourite cycling illustrator/Cartoonist?

I was doing a bit of reading up about illustrators in France pre war: essentially they were hired in contract by publicity 'agencies', much like record labels today. They were quite poorly paid and rarely allowed to sign their works. Some of these posters sell for good four figures now. Kinda...

    Getting rid of a mouse

Tried the snap traps with peanut butter. It just sits there untouched. Traps have been out 4 days now, been changing the bait every day. The glue traps look good, not sure how they work though. We've no pets, does poison work well? I've heard if they creep off into a crawl space to die, pretty...

    Getting rid of a mouse

Gotta go. Seen it, heard it tried snap traps with bait, traps with peanut butter, it ain't interested. Tried blocking off exit holes and cutting off it's water supply (it's in the loft). It's there a foolproof method (can't get a cat, wife allergic) to get rid? Anyone with experience? It's...
