Any ideas what these tools are for?

Couple of possibles, but still not convinced. I know absolutely nothing about cars, but this looks vaguely similar... wonder if this is it.

Any ideas what these tools are for?

I'm on another (non-bike) forum and someone posted a couple of pics of some DIY(?) sockets they picked up in a box of random bike tools at a car boot. I'm guessing they must either be for a specific bottom bracket or freewheel, but I can't find anything which matches the pattern of slots. They...

They are a doddle actually. The only potentially challenging bit is if the outer chromed casing won’t unscrew from the ballring. This guy has done a great step-by-step guide LINK so I just follow along with the pictures. It is generally good advice not to let your ballrings get seized in the...

    Moulton Standard M1 1965 (finished)

Just to tidy up loose ends I stripped and cleaned the rear hub which came off the Moulton. Staggered at how a 66 year old hub still works like the day it came out of the factory. Looks pretty tidy as well. Before...

Here is a 1965 Moulton Standard I've been getting operational again. More details in this thread.

Looking for a metal Moulton headtube badge. Bike isn't period correct, so anything suitable considered thanks.

    Moulton Standard M1 1965 (finished)

I'm very impressed. I tried it out over a few of the smaller local potholes and the suspension really smooths out the ride. It isn't ever going to be a speed machine & there is a tiny bit of play in the head tube / front suspension which I can't eliminate. But on the other hand it is nearly 60...

Don't suppose anyone has got a head badge I can buy from them? (the metal version)

    Moulton Standard M1 1965 (finished)

Blitzed the last few jobs today and got it done. Still needs a final few snagging bits sorting out (decals, badge etc.) but I'm pretty happy with how its turned out. Just been round the block on it and it is *comfy*. Daughter had better ride it now, or else!!!

    Moulton Standard M1 1965 (finished)

Just bikes and a bit of tinkering with airguns / air pistols. I honestly think one of the best investments I ever made was a loft ladder. It now takes <60 seconds to hide all the old tat I'm only going to need once every 30 years.

    Moulton Standard M1 1965 (finished)

Another job ticked off 👍 I was quite impressed with the paint, which will hopefully be tough enough to keep the pedals looking tidy for a bit. Meant to be used as an underbody coat with some level of chip resistance. Unfortunately the pictures don't do it justice since I sprayed on a varnish...

Tidied up a bit in the workshop. I'd love to be able to live with mess, but it just isn't meant to be.

    Moulton Standard M1 1965 (finished)

Haven't had a chance to do much lately, but got to work on the pedals today, which aren't the originals but a lovely pair of Deore XT M735 I picked up from @Fatal Swan a while back. They were already in pretty good shape so only needed a buff up. Work in progress...

    Which circlip pliers?

Very interesting & useful info! Many thanks for this and all the other replies.

    Which circlip pliers?

I've managed for however many years without any circlip pliers on the basis I don't use them very often. When I do need one, I go through the usual rigmarole of circlips pinging off round the workshop, losing the ends of my fingertips, doing a bodge job with pliers, tweezers etc. and general...

    Retro PlusGas

If you work on retro bikes, it's a fact you own a can of PlusGas. However, a Sunday lunch trip to see the folks accompanied by my dad's normal suggestion of "let's have a look in the garage, I'm trying to have a clear out" means I now own some retro PlusGas to go with the retro bikes. Have a...

    Moulton Standard M1 1965 (finished)

Re-assembly was another potentially sweary affair, since there is a rebound spring deep inside the inner steerer tube which is kept in place by a barrel nut (which needs to be held in place with a 30cm slot head screwdriver) whilst a bolt is lifted up through a blind hole to engage with it from...
