Marin Team Titanium - Frame Number Help

Might want to consider posting pics of decals as there is no serial number database to review. Also, still have the original parts? List the 2 letter date codes stamped into various Shimano parts. That'll give the parts production date and a better starting point for age.

    Yeti FROacuda

Pretty sure it's one of two possibilities. It was a frame that a yeti welder built for himself in 94 and there was an unused Cuda down tube from the 93 batch, decided to plop it in there. Or it was from when they were clearing out the shop in 1999 and it was a built from parts they had laying...

Ti frames, which to keep and which to move on?

The ones you don't ride and don't fit right must go. Start with your least favorite, the bike market at least where I live is a little different than it has been in years past. I think the surge in new and used bike purchases during COVID is damping bike purchasing, especially combined with...

Shiver SC different A-C measurements between the 100 & 120mm versions?

Hello all, Hoping for some help, recently I've been on the hunt for a Shiver SC and I've noticed a few differences I was previously unaware of Apparently there are 120 & 100mm versions, didn't know that. Also it seams that 2002 & 2003 have the ECC/ETA travel reduction damper & the 2004's...

It does ride very well, I've put over one hundred miles on it so far and I'm quite happy with it. Best of the old and new combined into a bike I'll likely have until I can't ride anymore :) The thread hijack, normally I'm not a fan, but the story is about the frame, figured it would be best to...

Took some time this morning to sort out the brakes and put some green flare on the score... Finally get to take out the most modern Kona on a few roudy trails today... Going to be a blast!

Tried out a 70mm stem instead of an 85, much better. Chromag seat QR (quite possibly the best seat QR ever) & going to test out some ti green bolts just for fun ... Should have the brake lines redone shortly (procrastinating) followed by the crank swap. Will finally cut the bars soon & figure...

Marzocchi FS - IS disc brake adaptors.

180 does look better but 160mm was the standard supported size for regular QR drop outs. Something about the leverage of a larger disc adding to the risk of the wheel popping out of the drop outs... but that was probably written for liability reasons. Obviously QR20 does not have that problem.

100% rideable, will still have to sort out pedals, a better seat, those blue bolts and maybe a slightly higher rise stem... 30 mile shakedown ride scheduled for Wednesday.

Well shoot... Good news is front Derailleur is on... Bad news is the M952 shifters do not fit well with the brake levers.... So I think swapping XO 9 speed shifters and rear D from the Bianchi & XTR on the Bianchi is the next move

Found brake adapters and made a tough decision.... I've got a gorgeous Turner I've been trying to sell for $500. Nothing, crickets... It's got the front Derailleur I need for the score. Also has minty shifters (as apposed to the scratched ones I was going to use) I can use, a nice period correct...

Test fit. Confirmed good with 85mm Easton Haven stem. Bars will be cut down to 750ish... Now to find a 180mm front brake adapter, and make sure my QR'rs are tight. Wheels post and seat are all just place holders. Won't start hunting for better until I can get a few good solid rides in...

Bontrager RaceLite Front Wheel - Lock Nut Tool

If it's just for preload you might be able to get by using a few darts... Remove the fins first. If it's under tension than pin spanner as stated above.
