Does my correct answer cancel-out @Rod_Saetan additional charge on a future purchase or does it double it? 😜🤣

Sorted Black Specialized carbon cage for 1988 bike

After one of these but in black to help bring my 1988 Hardrock closer to catalogue spec. Image nabbed from eBay: Many thanks for looking 🙏👌 Ta! Tim

    MF courier 1987 build thread

A truly iconic model from the mountain bike craze that many non cyclist would also recognise!🤩 Only comment is apart from this is a great project, is that this should be in the Readers MTB > 1997 forum? A moderator can easily move it across I think?!

Sadly they bodged re-attaching the tendon at the point of impact and missed work on a PIP joint on another finger. Two weeks after the incident when the swelling was reduced I went back to a hospital as my one knuckles was missing! Several x-rays later they realised I also has a clean break...

Great price @Walterscot ! IF @Disco Drive says no for any reason, I'd love to buy it! ;)

    Ritchey

100% agree on size. That Hardrock I got was only purchased for the cheap Suntour group, but loved how the bike rode so kept it as a complete bike. I'd love a quality steel mid 80s MTB like a Ritchey or similar but you're looking at some serious cash and not many come up this side of the pond.

    Ritchey

Just been on their site too as there was minimal detail on eBay. Don't trust anyone called Tim! 😜 Their Instagram certainly has an East London vibe about bikes and builds, but they are in North Wales, but of East London origin. I could probably ride Ritchey that based on being able to ride a...

    Ritchey

100% agree AND in the UK... just needs some more appropriate tyres or at least strip the writing of the sidewalls...

    Roberts #120 Cyclocross - Restoration

Looks great Phill! No doubt it does ride lovely, it's a Roberts after all! Tyres look to be a decent size/section to aid comfort/grip with all the leaves about the place. Frame colour, decals and detailing looks very classy. You must be pleased, but probably already thinking about your next...

    1986 Rockhopper mod

Good luck with all that. Been there (numerous times!) having to ride home with broken bones. 😬 Ligaments can be tricky to repair correctly, I have a deformed arthritic left hand thanks to being doored and crap repair work being done. :(

    1986 Rockhopper mod

Great news about the stem, love those and perfect for a mid 80s build. As for bar width, you can get away with quite wide bars IMO. The narrow flat bar craze of the late 80s and early 90s hadn't started so don't feel you need to be squeezed from an aesthetic POV.

    1986 Rockhopper mod

Didn't realise you bust yer thumb. That'll certainly restrict what mischief you can get up in the workshop! Hope it heals back OK and I'm sure you won't need physio as you'll have that covered with messing about with bikes! 🤞💪
