What makes you think I wouldn’t discipline my kid or expect him to behave respectfully?? Actually I have very firm, uncompromising beliefs about morals and responsibility. But the two aren’t exclusive. It’s not just goodies vs baddies - there can be idiots on all sides!

Somehow I missed the first photo showing the small ‘rivets’ before. As you say, there’s no sign of the original large rivets or nameplate, so they definitely appear to be assembled from new components.

Having new rails made would’ve been the best approach I suppose, but including the chroming it’s a lot of fiddling. Likewise welding.
This looks like a decently engineered solution to me (assuming it’s a modification)
I’m not familiar with the stems and can’t comment on their value, but the sellers other items are ridiculously overpriced.
