For Sale You must be VERY tall Rob Telfer frame and new carbon fork for sale.

He's not kidding. It's enormous. I've seen full grown adults who's seat tubes are shorter than the headtube on this high quality gate.

How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

a mate was asking me roughly what this big old trek tourer might be worth. Way, way outside my area of expertise, can anyone help please? it's very big - he is 6ft5 and that's his saddle height. drivetrain parts look to be non original, budgety but usable quality, sora chainset, altus...

Tell me about my wheel (late 70s early 80s?)

A quick experimental buffing revealed the witness mark of a rectangular decal with sharp corners that was over the joint.

Tell me about my wheel (late 70s early 80s?)

I've handled a lot of cup and cone hubs in my time and this one is one of the smoothest so I'm leaving it well alone! I've got some autosol so I'll give it a quick buff

    Sorted Kona Curve C3 Crankset

Good luck. they had a tendency to crack in the taper and so are pretty rare. I had a NOS set back in about 2010 and they lasted 2 years of light use before cracking

Tell me about my wheel (late 70s early 80s?)

Great info both, thanks. Braking surface is really tiny to my eye, perhaps that's a clue? I got it from a pile of stuff outside a house clearance labelled 'free, please take' and judging by the wide selection of tools and odd bits etc there the previous owner was a long time tinkerer so may...

Tell me about my wheel (late 70s early 80s?)

Acquired a nice wheel recently. Campag record hub, which I think is 70s/80s. The spokes and rim are more interesting Rim is a tubular. Polished silver. Eyelets. 32 spokes. Closest thing I've found online is a Mavic monthlery, but it could be a brand that went away before my (90s onward) era...

Argos - found via this forum - 63 mile shakedown

Argos is run by blokes in shop coats. They'll probably be able to tell you what the framebuilder had for lunch the day he made it. And if you really want to feel extra good about your purchase, have a look how much a new one would cost....

Argos - found via this forum - 63 mile shakedown

Argos are still going strong here in Bristol and will probably have records of the paint. Give them a ring!

Lugged frame builders in the UK

Interestingly I've just turned up a post on cyclinguk forum with info on what the Woodrup Jacksons will cost. Audax/End-End in Reynolds 725 with standard lugs and all appropriate eyelets - £1585. Vigorelli (singlespeed/fixed) in 725 with standard lugs will - £1550 Olympus (road racing) in 725...

Lugged frame builders in the UK

Rourke are the closest on price to Jackson I could find. Rourke's primary competition is probably Mercian, and their cheapest is about £1200 which would suggest that 1100-1200 about the price for making a lugged 631 in the UK. Jackson prices were just unrealistic, propped up by convenient...

Lugged frame builders in the UK

That makes a lot of sense actually. A price has to be charged that makes the business viable.
