    Brain Rourke markings.

A very common addition to forks from the 70's onwards I would say. I think Ceeway Marketing supplied them if not others.

Are clamp on downtube shifter stops needed?

Having experienced levers gradually sliding down the tube - and completely upsetting the cable tension and therefore the efficiency of the change (especially if indexed) then I would always go for a stop if possible. Top or Bottom of tube doesn't matter as a top stop could be decorative and...

    Brifters and grease!!!

My experience exactly with my 8 speed 105. After a winter lay-off it would go onto the big ring but not the other way. (Not that I use the big ring much.......) Once on big ring it wouldn't come off. One day, using the bike for the first time after winter 'storage', exactly this happened. I...

Lugged frame builders in the UK

So Woodrup are actually using the name? I was under the impression from talking to people who 'know' that the whole deal had fallen through. I wonder why you would order a BJ from them rather than a true Woodrup? Saying that, BJ also ran Merlin and JRJ alongside the BJ brand BITD. EB also...

Lugged frame builders in the UK

Well, that's (good) news to me. I understood that even with the new owners it had collapsed a while ago. Has anyone had any recent contact with them? I sincerely hope they are still in business.

Lugged frame builders in the UK

Bob Jackson and Ellis Briggs haven't been in business for a while. AFAIK anyway.

A Tale of Two Dave Quinns

Interesting thread. I was under the impression that DQ built his own frames and that he had previously worked with Dave Lloyd. Perhaps he only built his better end road frames? A friend has a DQ road bike (which I've still not yet seen Eric!) and he says it is really nice.

    Yet another wotsit

TBH, it could be from any number of builders. The fittings are all 'standard' for the era but the seat stay tops are somewhat individual but by no means unique. Whatever, it looks to be a nice frame that would benefit from some TLC and quality period components.

    For sale. Condor TT bike.

I take it that you have used the bike 'in anger' at some time in the past? Which club were/are you a member of? Wrexham and Chester were my old stamping grounds when I was a lad. Lost count of the number of times I grovelled up Marford hill on the way back from a TT on the old D1 course. :)

Alan alloy / carbon cyclocross bikes?

Probably the other way round. Alan and Duralinox frames were branded for all sorts of other companies, Guerciotti being just one.

    Fiorelli Frame

Nice condition and a Gnutti cotterless chainset. Watch your ankles on those bolts! Early Campag Gran Sport mech, Campag 'matchbox' front mech, Universal side pulls, Cinelli steel bars and stem, Campag GS hubs and Fiamme sprint rims - and a well used Brooks B17 on a steel seatpin and clip...

How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

I have an inkling that it may not be a DM but a respray by him. Nervex Pro lugs don't fit in with an 80/90's frame and the chainstays look very long for that period too. Why not get in touch with him to ask?

    Random art sketch.

Chainwheel's on the wrong side and I think he's front-ended it! Hardly surprising seeing the head-down riding position..................... :)

    Tony Doyle passed away RIP

Very sad news. He was such a smooth pedaller, a '56.30' 25 on a 72" gear! BTW - Danny Clark not Boyle.

    Project Wheeler 7100

I've always riden my brakes that way round. I suppose it dates back to my youth seeing photos of my heros in magazines.

All the more reason to come along and make up the numbers! You'll find plenty of more modern machines there and yours will be perfect.

You would be very welcome. No need to ask, just turn up with a bike (or 2 or 3 etc.)
