Steve Bauer on his 'funny bike'. I don't think he continued with the 'experiment' for very long!

My mate Eric beat him in a 2 man sprint finish at the end of a long race up in the Yorkshire hills. I don't think he had any idea who he was or how big a scalp he'd taken!

Derek Roe's brother was also a Hull based builder for a short while wasn't he? Ex-Falcon (Brigg) I seem to remember?

And a Kirkby CC/Puch rider in second place riding something that isn't a Puch. Interesting that the M&B is in a very close representation of Team Raleigh colours. I agree that the front rider doesn't really look like Steve 'Jockey' Joughin. Perhaps someone will be able to confirm? Look at...

    Terry Dolan Tandem?

Joey didn't build any frames. As he was a pro rider around that period his name would probably have been used as a marketing and sales tool by Cougar.

    Terry Dolan Tandem?

The Joey McCloughlin name takes it back to the 80's. I've not seen a Cougar with those transfers.

Help with identifying a British Lightweight frame

I think Severn Valley frames were Nervex Pro lugs but I suppose other lugs may have been used.

    Can anyone identify this Robert's?

Thanks. Not seen an upward slope stem of that style. I was thinking it was a very rare Cinelli model!

    RIP Pat Adam's

Very sad news . He was a great friend for well over 50 years and in recent times we spoke on the 'phone at least once a week, chewing the fat on all sorts of topics (occasionally even cycling!). I will really miss him. Very good piece in the online Single Track magazine by Chipps. RIP old mate.

    My tandem wont stop!

On our race tandem in the late 80's we had DuraAce side pulls. OK'ish most of the time - but not in the wet. Riding a '25' in pouring rain we nearly ran down a copper who stuck his hand out when we were only about 20 yards away. We carried on with a shouted 'sorry'. Thankfully he wasn't...

Nice to see the lugs made up and the bike built. You brought them to my house to see them when you came up to Leeds. Sorry to hear about your medical condition. I'm not immune from problems myself these days. Some thing to do with getting older so I'm told  Paul G.

Thanks for the comments. I'll try and answer some of your questions - Crash Hats compulsory - Can't remember! Leather ones were always (in my memory anyway) compulsory on the track but no idea when they became a requirement on the road. I'd stopped RR'ing by then. How long - Any distance...

Probably the last few. If I find any more (doubtful!) I can post them. I apologise that I feature in 4 of these so just pretend I'm Barry Hoban:rolleyes:. BTW, the photos posted of Barry are excellent. I don't think I've seen them before. The first three are from 1966. It did seem to rain...
