    Re: Rear derailleur fitted, cables added, clamp and front derailleur adjusted, chain cut to length, just need the outer cable and then I can set up the gears and then a test ride!

    Re: Give the frame a wash and shampoo and then use car polish (not wax) it will work like T Cut on the paint but not so harsh, when it looks all shiny keep it like that using 'Pledge' furniture spray polish, works a treat* *please bear in mind I live somewhere where it doesn't rain much :D

    Re: Good job! It's always nice to restore rather than replace, more original etc. That Autosol is powerful stuff! :D (seems to have eaten it's way through your chainring bolts :D )

    Re: Late this afternoon it cooled down a bit so spent a happy hour assembly bits onto the bike, brakes set up, chain rings assembled and fitted, contemplated the universe, drank beer and reflected...looking good, I think... Doesn't everyone have bike racks outside the front of their house? :D

    Re: Weinmann brakes are fine (well it doesn't rain much here) I notice you have the centre pull brake 'bridge' at the back so I'm guessing those aren't the original brakes?

    Re: I was trying it from the other end first, I've now tried it from the right end but can't re tension the spring as you only have a really small end on the spring to grip with the needle nose pliers, also I can't find a way to clamp it together. At least now I know it's um bastardo of a job...
