My Axis back in the day (92 i think it was) took a 30.0 seatpost, or at least that's what the LBS fitted (Zoom), still have it in the garage.

How "risky" to ride are these older carbon bonded frames? ie the bonding letting go or the carbon failing due to unseen previous damage..

I've got a fillet brazed Dawes, and that's not fillet brazed... unless someone went over it with the welder afterwards. Looking at it more closely some parts might be brazed on but not the full thing.

Back in the day my LBS had that exact same Axis TT frame for sale for ages, i seriously lusted after it but given the price it was never going to be mine. I had to make do with an "normal" Axis. Really good to see one built up and looking so nice. Enjoy it!👍

That tooth on the middle ring looks properly knackered to me too, you should be able to get a replacement easily enough

Gone down the x10 route (1x10) myself and it can get expensive pretty quickly. I'd go with @jimo746 suggestion, i know i would if i was doing it again in the future

I had some parts go missing with Hermes that I'd sold on eBay, had to refund the seller and stand the loss (wasn't insured). 6 months later a random package turns up out of the blue at home, they'd managed to return them to me, was chuffed despite the time that'd passed, so hopes no always lost.

Got to agree about the Q Acoustics although i've got a pair of Missions as well which aren't far off.

I'm intrigued now, is it just the general feel that's not 100% doing it for you? I've got one i'n bits that i've yet to ride properly so i'm interested in your thoughts

Only just seen this^^, please tell me this isn't photoshopped! I know it's subjective but i think it looks the mutts in that colour scheme.
