Any difference between Yeti and Accutrax forks?

That is a very old fork, welded by yours truly. Campy track drops. Saw cut caps. Is there a hole drilled in the bottom of that cap that has been plug welded?

    Change at Independent Fabrication

I have been spending a bit of time at IF and enjoying it. Shawn who has been there for quite while brought me up to speed quickly on the welding procedures so I could be of some help. A bunch of the original players who worked there during other periods are returning and I will be working...

Any difference between Yeti and Accutrax forks?

Hi, thanks for the warm welcome. As I remember, the 1-1/4" came about at the same time as true-temper and the tighter bend radius. I don't remember making a lot of 1-1/4" forks (perhaps 200?) so I think if you have tighter radius it could Answer or Yeti. Keep in mind that Yeti built forks marked...

Any difference between Yeti and Accutrax forks?

The original Yeti forks had several small changes over the years. The original had campy drops that were modified. The leg end caps were saw-cut from solid bar at an angle. The steerers were made from raw tube, threaded and had a .833 (13/16") ID for BMX stems. The next version had...

    Cracked aluminium head tubes...

I have replaced a few headtubes on Easton kit bikes. The .155" wall was just too thin. I repaired a Manitou a while back and added about 25% to the wall thickness.

    some old Yeti pics

I found some old pics and thought I should share them. I will try to scan and upload on a regular basis and update this thread. This is a holiday photo from sometime before we moved to Durango. I don't know who wants to be "public" in this image so I will just tell you that I am the guy on...

    greetings!

Thanks for the warm welcome! I almost landed my first "find" today when I went to the recycling center. It appeared to be a GT with the top tube extending beyond the seat tube but it also has a short curved tubular brace between the top tube and seat tube. Looked to be full Deore with three...
