Wanted as per title. Doesn't have to be new but reasonable nick with decent pivot bolt hole threads.

Re: Ok just checked and the downtube is straight, no bowing. Same as seat tube.

Re: Yeah I suppose that is a possibility. The top tube cable guides aren't squashed or damaged either so if that was the case it would have been in between these.

Re: Yeah I get the idea that this bike has been left outside in the elements quite a bit in it's lifetime, hence the many rust spots across the frame. There is no creasing or denting of any kind to suggest a front end crash and the forks are straight. Original fork stamped with same frame...

Re: Ok with regards to the paint, I have rubbed it down with sandpaper at these points due to some rust spots.

Doesn't look too bad here so will probably live with it. Should look ok after a repaint.

73' head angle 75' seat angle. That is according to the Mercian catalogue spec for a 21.5" King of Mercia racing frameset (which this is) I know that it has stock geometry as it was built for a bike shop, Howes of Cambridge to be sold on by them as a complete bike.

It is bowing slightly downwards. The straight edge was rocking when placed on the underside of the tube. Forks are straight.

The top tube on a 1985 Mercian I have recently acquired seems to be slightly bowed. To the tune of about 1mm when I hold a straight edge to the underside of the tube. I wonder if it has always been this way right from the time of it's manufacture? Or the result of some form of wear and tear...
