    *C16r frame* ((PRICEDROP))

Re: *C16r & Bomber forks for sale* As I said whayne, I was in rather a rush to post and should have thought longer about what this frame cost me - all the work done on it adds up to £160 plus what it cost me in the first place, plus i spent time rust proofing it internally & I'll including...

    *C16r frame* ((PRICEDROP))

Re: *C16r & Bomber forks for sale* Ok, so I think I was quite hasty in posting the above. Now I have actually though about/remembered the amount of work that when into the frame I'm going to ask for £120. I think the disk mount and brace/eyelet cost £100 alone. makster - £75 for the...

    C16r & 650b wheels and ecentric BB ~

Sorry forgot to mention Ive had a disc mount and brace welded to the frame, a very neat job by Roberts cycles. You would never have thought its was retro fitted by looking at it. (Running BB7s with gores sealed cables) So the only issue should be tyre clearance. (i hope i don't get cast out for...

    C16r & 650b wheels and ecentric BB ~

Hey folks, at the mo my Orange C16r is running 1x10, but I would like to turn it into a single speed using an eccentric bb and also if they fit some 650b wheels. Firstly has anyone tried fitting 650s into the frame of a retro ("97) c16 and how did you get on? What tyre sizes could you run...

    Clockwork- Bar and stem geometry

Jax13 no need to tell you to bugger off.. I agree with what you said above. I hadn't considered lowering the stem and altering the angle to suit, but that would help it in the looks department. I have been playing in CAD and I recon a 110mm 30° stem would put a flat bar in the right position and...

    Clockwork- Bar and stem geometry

Is it not possible to create the same position using riser or flat bars with a different stem? Did the riser bar come after the flat bar to give a more comfortable riding position without having to change the stem? I hate these evil little questions that pop into my head!

    Clockwork- Bar and stem geometry

Thanks, Ill probably do a proper post when the bike is finished.. will paint the bars and stem to match once ive made up my mind on geometry, and sorted some decals. I am just wondering if the flat bars of "97 had any back sweep? Looking on CRC, 580 wide bars have a back sweep of 5° and the...

What is it with you lot and bar ends? So they are ok on flat bars but not on risers?

    Clockwork- Bar and stem geometry

Yep, your right, even more than I thought. The head angle certainly is slack for that frame but as Andy B says I also ride a "07 Stumpy FSR and a road bike so in comparison the C'work is not so extreme, as just 'not right'. Saying that I have stuck on the 670 (!) wide high rise bar and 100mm...

    Clockwork- Bar and stem geometry

The A/C measurement is 420mm and I think the original F7 forks were 380mm, so yes the forks are too big. I am keeping my eye open for some Pace RC30s and/or some F7s but they are few and far between, especially with 1" threadless steerers.

    Clockwork- Bar and stem geometry

I have just got a "97 C16R refurb together, and I put on some retro polished cromo riser bars that a mate lent me mainly cos they looked good. But when I took it out for a shake down ride, found it felt awful! The bars are 580 wide and the stem was only 80 mm long with a 10° rise. I decided to...

    Rigid fork length for a "97 C16r..?

I am refurbing a 1997 C16r at the moment, and the forks that came with it were an "03 set of Bombers with 85mm travel. Now I am getting the parts together after a respray, looking at the head angle the Bombers give the frame is quite a lot slacker than with original F7 forks. Does any one know...
