    1990 Marin Pine Mountain Restoration

Fair enough, although I barely touched in over the winter, when there was in fact so little left to do. Extremely pleased to have completed the project.... ... Here are the pics... Now... I just can't bring myself to take in out and get it all...

91' Marin Eldridge & PineMountain..a brace of Zolatones

I hadn't touched mine throughout winter, but finally got round to cleaning up the last caliper on Saturday, and swapping the HG cassette onto the Araya RM20 rims that I bought. All that's left is to refit all the gear cabling and she'll be finished... Hopefully full set of pics for retrobike in...

Marin Zolatone appreciation and info thread!

Just need to clean up one single brake caliper, and reassemble that set of brakes, and then re-cable the gears and polish up the hubs and change over my original HG cassette onto the Araya RM20 rim that I bought... and we're done. Probably no more than a morning's work.

Marin Zolatone appreciation and info thread!

Hi chaps, It was me who had the mate that did a Zolatone recreation. Haven't been on here lately, as my rebuild has stalled. Not really that much left to do, but just can't seem to find the time to lock myself away in the shed for a weekend to finish it off. Will do soon. This is one of...

Yes, that too... I had assumed that the discussion already took that into consideration, because I'd started the thread with the original bike pic. :D

    1990 Marin Pine Mountain Restoration

This might illustrate what I'm saying about how the colour looks different under varying lighting conditions... The first picture is in my office, under a number of 60W and 40W lighbulbs, as per the main bulk of the more recent pics I've posted. The second picture is by the back window...

    1990 Marin Pine Mountain Restoration

If I could find a pair of good condition or NOS Marin Rockstars, I'd be a very happy bloke! Precisely... the colour looks very different from one picture to the next, mainly due to the varying light conditions. I even found that the colour looks totally different from one PC screen to the...

    1991 marin palisades mini project.

That looks stunning!!! Excellent job! Hoping my Pine Mountain comes out as good... Interested to see you put the "Race Bred" stickers on the stays, and the "Marin" stickers down the forks... I thought the 1990 models didn't have either. (At least they didn't on the Pine Mountain). :?: :D

    1990 Marin Pine Mountain Restoration

I'll need to ask him for the details again. He did tell me, but it went straight over my head. He is very interested in taking requests for more work; that's the business he's in, and as a very keen road cyclist, spraying bikes is what he'd much rather be doing. PM me if you'd like his...

1990 Marin Pine Mountain Restoration - Frame is back at last

Managed to get the headset cups out pretty easily today. I now have to wait until the tool arrives in the post for me to press the new cups in. So should be able to start on the rebuild in earnest towards the end of the week. Lot's of NOS parts and restored pieces... I think it's gonna...
