The finishing touches - advice required

753's with a good set of wheels are brill to ride, I could never afford one as a schoolboy and junior racer back in the day, so picked one up a couple of years back. It's like all your effort is chanelled into making the bike go forward, which is just what you want really  As for...

Dave Marsh Reynolds 753 race frame, forks, BB, Campag h/s

I looked at the picture when first advertiised and assumed it was a 24inch or something as the head tube and distance from the rear brake bridge to the binder bolt look way bigger than any of the 57cm frames I've owned. So that's some distortion on the camera.

    Viking Severn Valley 1960 re-list on e-bay

a good start would be the url for your item, also without knowing, if your's was pickup only, it tends to put a lot of potential buyers off.

    FS: Vintage Campag brakes- SOLD

take a look at ebay for the campag brakes, don't know the difference between super record and nuovo record, but whatever they are, they are worth a fair few quid, usually above the £50 margin of the last few weeks. the broken rubber washer part are £3 on ebay so easy to replace. hope it helps.

    NOS tyres... Good/bad idea?

It will depend a lot on how they were stored. I've had some keep in a pretty constant temperature away from sun light and they are okay, but have had others not so well stored which have cracked and disintergrated around the wire. Depends on how much they are inc postage, as to whether they...

Advice on lightweight 'training bike' frames (653 ?)

A frame from the 60s/70s will rule out 653 as it was a late 80's offering, while you may get an early 753, it will be 126mm width and it's not advisable to try and splay the rear stays to 130mm on 753. Therefore 531 will be your friend as it can cope with cold setting the rear stays, or just...

Advice on lightweight 'training bike' frames (653 ?)

you might have some more luck with an 853 frameset as prev mentioned the release of this tubeset coincided with faster audax frames, but expect to pay a higher premium. An older frame like 531 will still make a great training bike, be carefull though you may begin to prefer the feel of steel...
