Narrow tyres on older 27 inch rims

Actually, it is usually okay to use narrow tyres on older rims such as the Alesa. However, you cannot use pressures above about 60psi.

Claud Butler International Club model #1 (c1949) Clapham

Great to see a lugless CB in unrestored condition, clearly showing the original transfers and lining. I think your memory may be a year out though. The frame number indicates that it was built in July 1950. Good luck with the sale, but I fear that you may have to lower your sights a bit...

Sold Mike a pair of wheels. Really pleasant to deal with and he even added a few quid (without being asked) to help with the cost of delivering them. Top bloke!

Cannondale M800 Beast of the East - stunning condition

1993 Cannondale Beast of the East Had this a couple of years but never use it (it's far too good to get dirty!) so can't really justify keeping it. Most of the equipment is period-correct and a good deal of it was acquired NOS. Since restoration it has covered minimal mileage in dry...

    1949 claud butler

That CB looks great. Love the red anodised Airlites too - these were (and are) very sought after due to the Reg Harris connection mentioned in an earlier post but often the anodising fades to pink over time. Rare to look this good. The South of France bars look great too, and are very...

    Holdsworth Road/Path Bike, 1950's Cyclone???

Use a grease nipple. I think the thread is 2BA (not certain though) and you should be able to find one on ebay. Or try Nick at Lloyds, the bloke who does the bike transfers. Funny how the words 'grease nipple' makes me want to smirk...

    Holdsworth Road/Path Bike, 1950's Cyclone???

Reckon I got it wrong. The mono pic shows the more ornate Cyclone DeLuxe lugs so yours is the Cyclone model, not the DeLuxe.

    Holdsworth Road/Path Bike, 1950's Cyclone???

It's a Cyclone DeLuxe from 1950 or 1951. Frame numbers were sequential and had reached 11500 by 1950. The DeLuxe had the long spearpoint lugs with 'windows' but from about 1952 the DeLuxe tag was dropped. This was a very popular clubman's frame in the late 1940s and early 1950s. 'Track'...

My fathers Ernie Clements SuperPro bought back from the dead

Nice bike. I think Ernie Clements Cycles bought in frames and stickered them up when yours was built. Anyone know who actually made them? Falcon perhaps? Back in the early days they had their own workshops and produced frames like this one from 1948 that I restored shown here...

Cannondale M800 Beast of the East frame - PRICE DROP

Strangely enough, I do still have the bike and all the bits and I still hardly ever use it. Got too many bikes, so some rarely get used. Just too bone idle to advertise it again.
