(Marin) Catalogue Bike Weights are they actually accurate

Rather than dither and wait for something lighter to come up I should probably just stop using the weight as a reason to procrastinate: buy the berthoud fenders… the bar, stem, grips I want… and man up for those hills.

(Marin) Catalogue Bike Weights are they actually accurate

Having looked at some weights in marin/kona catalogues it looks like bikes lost 2kg from early to mid 90s. Since there seemes to be a large fan base for early muddy fox (and I like flouro green) I got a 1990 courier comp. 20" frame. I liked the fox until I decided to weigh it. I can't...

Where/Which spares for an Exage 300 LX rear Mech

Hmmm... I'm not sure why I was thinking that Exage was the same level as Deore just an earlier name. That is disapointing. I'm glad I know. Need to check the components catalogues on here i guess. So i don't end up down cycling by accident. Local LBS has offered to have a look through thier...

    Festive Frolics 2014 - Cancelled.

Re: Festive Frolics 2014 - Sunday 28th December 11am Glentress I can't find Janets Brae on google maps. Could you post a marker? Took the Boys to GT the other week only to find that there was no access to the Buzzards nest car park... What frame size? What condition? and what is cheap?

Where/Which spares for an Exage 300 LX rear Mech

I need a new top jokey pully (excessive sideways play) and new spring adjusting B-tension (there is no effect when adjusting the screw). Anywhere I can get new old stock? Or which readily available spares for more modern mechs will do the trick.

Re: Sorry, I don't mean to patronise. Maybe you missunderstand what a snipe tool does? Or even Ebay? If the bid is at £30 it means that there is only 1 bid potentially higer than £30 at present. Not that the maximum amount anyone has bid is £30. If you bid regularly with your maximum or £46...

Start using a snipe tool! Most of them are free unless you do silly amounts of bidding! The bidding process (from a buyers perspective anywway) is flawed. Why is it that the fist bid ineveitably ends up atrracting more bids even if its something that has been relisted 3 times and nobody...

Islabikes CNOC 14 - geared conversion?

Very neat! I don't have a need for this at this time but I will probably do such a conversion for my daughter in a couple of years time. Out of interest what is the exact modle of the hub you used? As one of the main factors why people chose islabikes is weight: How much weight did this add...
