Trek 930 single track XC..........commuter bike

Re: Quick ride update.......been commuting for the last 2 weeks on the Trek 930 and gotta say what a smooth ride, very impressed and a lovely riding positron. Still the new 'City Jet' tires must help on the ride front, but blasting past fully geared up roadies on a slick shod mountain bike from...

Trek 930 single track XC..........commuter bike

Re: Just fitted my new 8 speed wheel, whilst I was there thought I'd get a couple of new tires as well. Everything else has come from the 'parts bin'. Not an immaculate build but its gonna be my commuter so not overly bothered as it will be out in all weathers. Still for a £37 bike I think its...

Trek 930 single track XC..........commuter bike

Re: I bought the bike with those tires fitted, I planned on keeping them on their as I intend to use it for commuting duties. However I did give them a bit more air (75psi) & like you said, glad it happened whist the bike was on the stand & not in use!!!!! I have checked the front wheel (the...

Trek 930 single track XC..........commuter bike

So it was time to retire (strip for parts) my Specialized Crossroads Comp, my commuter for the last 14 years. In that time I have completely striped & rebuilt her from frame up again to keep her going. But I think now it is time to move to a new (old) bike. With this in mind I scored a very...

Replacement fork for Parkpre Pro 825

Re: Yes a rigid fork would be lighter than the Suntour's, but I only suggested the Suntour's because the bike already had Suspension forks, so kinda replacing like for like. The lock out on the Suntour is pretty good, your call. But whatever you go fo for you are keeping another Parkpre on the...

Replacement fork for Parkpre Pro 825

Re: I guess it all depends on what you are going to be using the bike for, serious cross country or easy fire trail? Do you want to go retro (see http://www.parkpre.com although if you chose this route you won't be using the disc brake) & how much do you want to spend? For what its worth I...

    Parkpre Team 925....finally finished

Took it out for a bit of a quick shake down ride this evening, just checking nothing falls off & the gears work smoothly, I think the front mech may need a tweak but other than that, very nice ride. Light smooth & very chuckable. And home........

Thames Path ride (away from the city)

I live in Bexley & was wondering if anyone had a good (complete) Thames path cycle route. The reason I ask is because I was told a while ago that not alll the path is rideable. So wondered where the short cut / detours were to spend the least amount of time on the roads & the most amount of time...
