    140-150mm forks

Unless you are going enduro/freeride or are a big bloke the Pikes are overkill as were the 66. The Revelations are a great trail fork and the Equivalent Zocchi is the XC600. I've got a 2009 XC600 TST2 (my Kona) and a 2010 Revelation RLT (my sons Voodoo), I prefer the XC600 as it's easier to set...

    Marzocchi Bomber Help

The 98 Z2 Atom bomb was a shorter travel 68mm from memory Z2 (think the BAM was 75mm). It had the alloy steerer and no disc mount and I think was designated as the lightweight XC race fork in the range (Kona fitted it to the Kula which has always been an XC Race bike). Usually the light was the...

    Vintage speaker surprise - B&W

I've got a pair of DM610i's which I got from my late father. Sadly one needs a new bass driver but I can get one fairly easily from ebay NOS. They do sound great though. Carl.

    COYS!

We've renewed season tickets for next year so hopefully a victory parade will happen at the first game and as my brother got the last game yesterday the honour will fall to me to go. Carl.

    COYS!

Re: Re: Bittersweet I think is the feeling. My boy will be at the game at the weekend with Mum and my brother hopefully if results go our way we can secure 3rd (and take us out of the scenario of being CL finalists but having the Goons take our place in next years competition by winning the...

    COYS!

Re: Wondered if this would pop up on any of the forums I use. Didn’t see the game but was tracking it on bbc site and heard a roar from the neighbours when they got the winner. So emotional as my dad who passed last November was a massive fan and season ticket holder with my eldest boy. He’d...

What disc brakes for kids build?

Deore M615's are great brakes (current top budget caliper, that happily competes with brakes costing 2x the price) and a used set are around £40. I would have no issues putting them on a kids bike with 160mm discs (their weight doesn't really require more).

    Fork lockout cable pull?

Re: Re: Keep me updated as I need a remote for a Manitou minute that my youngest boy is having. Found this one too: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1Pcs-bikinGr ... SwqIhb4Awv Thanks, Carl.

    Fork lockout cable pull?

I know Suntour doesn't work with Manitou as I've performed the experiment myself. My wifes Suntour XCR RL-Air has a more direct switch under the top cap that the cable pulls, more like a flip switch that the twist of both RS and Manitou. I would say that looking at both RS and Manitou lockouts...

The genuine £5k gold Prestige Muddy Fox has resurfaced...

Re: Re: Good spot and very different to the one touted as the same! The one in the auction even has limited edition on the top tube where the 88 limited edition was lower than the gold plated one.

The genuine £5k gold Prestige Muddy Fox has resurfaced...

Yep, it’s a 1989 limited edition which is in the catalog on here. This thing has been doing the rounds at various over inflated price for about 5 years now. Would be a nice bike at a sensible price. Carl

    FEKKIN EBAY TIMEWASTERS

Sound like BS or wife found out syndrome as why would they have paid if the son placed the bid by mistake, surely they would have just requested to cancel before the payment? Anyway easier to refund now than for them to get it and send it back with maybe a bogus not as described reason to fleece...

1996 Claud Butler Cape Wrath 653 (The Blue one)

Re-pro hanger or Magura's, either way is good! I have a Z2 Atom Bomb on my Anteaus mainly as the Atom bomb was shorter travel vs the regular Z2 and I wanted a fork that worked when I rode it, it only comes out a few times a year but is always working when it does. Carl.

    REMOVED

Re: 1989 Pinarello Antelao - remembering Klunkin' Larry I must admit i'd missed Lars passing. He could be quite acerbic on the Facebook group he ran but always kept it on topic and was passionate. Shame to hear that he'd passed. Carl.

1996 Claud Butler Cape Wrath 653 (The Blue one)

Re: Looks like it has some nice White Industries cranks fitted. They are light and strong from memory and worth a few pennies over the Deore LX ones, i'd keep them personally. As for forks the XC700 was older and 1996 was the first year the Bomber Z2 was available, it's a decent fork that...

    Deciding if a bike fits?

Re: Re: This is exactly how I feel on my cube. I’ve been thinking about a Thomson layback post and slightly longer stem for it as when I started looking at other frames and sizing them up for a parts transfer I found I was basically riding the right size, so maybe I just want a bit more...
