    Campagnolo Hierarchy

Got some Campagnolo cantis, tried to ID them, found these threads which cleared a bit of the confusion for me (thanks all who contributed to these threads). You've probably read it: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=239364&hilit=Campagnolo viewtopic.php?f=1&t=417196&hilit=campagnolo ... then at some point I...

    Which bike is this? Help

Centurion Sable. Which is basically same as Anlen Sable, just different stickers. About 1990, Tange Prestige double butted, originally should have Deore XT, overall a nice bike you don't see often. Some detailed photos, including catalog page of Anlen, here...

Has anyone built a Gravel bike using a retro frame

Also had a build with RSX, the thing is, the only STIs from the 90s available in 3x7. It is Sora level, but they are just fine. Sometimes it might be difficult to adjust the FD to reach the outer ring because of different road-mtb FD pull, with some FDs it works fine, this is same with all STIs...

    Alpinestars dx.

I believe the seller mounted e-type FD there, that is attached to the bottom bracket. Smart sollution, I personally never really trusted that, but people keep using this and it works.

    show us your gt's

Re: O, my current commuter/tourer is the first GT I've ever ridden. Built from f+f, no original parts.

    95 Yo Eddy Frame

Looks exactly the same, thanks for pointing out. Here is the original listing: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133428605821 ... 1758.m4704 According to that, there should be a 2mm rust hole under USA sticker on the seat tube, that's something the new seller should have pointed out as they know about...

    Colnago C35

Thank you, that's a new information for me. Still not sure if the frames can be casually ridden these days, or are they better just to hang on the wall and look at? In case any shows up for way less than 2,5k Euro .)

    Colnago C35

Nice, wondering who else used this frame design - from memory C4 Luna, but was it any good? (actually missed one C4 for sale at about 200 Euro months ago, still regretting haha.)

Replacing the big ring on an XT m739 4 bolt Crankset

A have already seen someone cutting most of the outer ring off, leaving the holes for middle chainring there, and using a NW chainring attached to the four holes. Just something to consider, might be a cheap way to bring the cranks back to use. Haven't tried myself, but one day... As I also have...

What's the shortest Square Taper BB?

Sheldonbrown's site shows recommended lengths for most usual cranksets. Actually the 103mm one is used on one series of Dura-Ace cranks (and few others, not really common ones, not even sure if some mtb ones use that). So I would be afraid the cranks will need more not to touch chainstays...

Bought LX M560 shifters but one not working properly.

And isn't it just the old grease issue, that some push-push/rapidfire mechanisms have? It happens to most of them, and even working shifter can stop working after not being used for a while. I personally flush it with WD-40, but it can also be properly redone (dismantled, cleaned, freshly...

    Mystery aluminium e-stay in Essex

Actually don't wanna discourage aswell, just meant to mention that for riding purpose, this wouldn't make sense. Got three e-stays, '92 Cromega, '92 Hooger Booger Booster and about '91 what I believe is a Steierbike (a small Austrian company, actually I'm not convinced it is made by them, just...

    NOS Alpinestars ...

Ye, frame is definitely not 1992 (different shape), but 1991 had decals placed differently.

    Sator Hyster XT (Done)

Quite new to this site, but anyway... really looking forward to this, got one Hyster XT Comp myself (in original condition), always loved this frames and this looks really inspiring.

Do you remember ... weird components and Bicycles.

Ooh the four chainrings! I used to have that on a road/city bike, added there by previous owner. If I remember correctly, my ones were made by Thun and had various rings between smething like 30-50 teeth. Actually the bike had 4-speed freewheel in the back, that had about 14-20, so it wasn't...

1995 KHS Montaña Comp - FINISHED, YAY !!!

Re: 1994 KHS Comp Just to add to the question, the head tube is not parallel to the seat tube. It is not that far from it, though. I can't find any KHS geometry sheet from that era, but for instance Scott mtbs from 1994 have 73,5 seat tube angle with 71,5 head tube angle for the Racing line in...

    Cassette/hub advice for a 1989 Dawes

If you decide to widen it and accomodate 9sp cassette, you would most likely need to change: rear derailleur - because it probably won't take the width and number of teeth on the cassette. shifters - as the 3x6 ones won't work with the rear derailleur. front derailleur - not sure about this...

    Kangaroo

I don't know much... these ones are made in Prague, around the middle of the 90s. Then the company focused more on DH (see the 150mm travel Tatanka in the catalog). Mrázek (afaik brothers), guys behind the company, used to be the local pioneers of DH, also making frames with specific design both...

    Early 90's Aluminium mystery bike..SCOTT??

Seconding that, would consider whether customizing aluminium frame for disc brakes is worth it (in my opinion definitely not).

    Group set help

As jonthefish said. And, pictures/year would help. Basically: bottom bracket - has different length, type and diameter. What you probably need is a square taper (type), diameter should be fine (other type is rare) and length according to the crankset you are planning to use. crankset -...
