    I think they only made a few of these out of titanium. I bought this from the guy that invented them from his booth at the Sea Otter Classic I think I paid around $100 for it back in 96 or 97, it was a lot for a bike tool, but I thought it was cool, lol. I still carry it in my seat bag.

    I was just reading the XTR M950 came out in 1996 so that might further support the frame on my Merlin being a 1996 with patent pending on the BB cartridge.

    I was curious what year mine was built and found this Forum. It is serial number XM0861im guessing 1996? I had it built in the mid 1990’s mostly Shamino 950 group the bottom bracket cartridge is patent pending and has a 4 post chainring spider I’m not sure if this is early for the 950 group...
