Not much of an update really....just had some time to start stripping the old girl down.
Serial number above begins with 0 so definately 1980. Also see in the picture some of the rust spots and quality paint touch up previously.
Going to have to get the paint redone, whether powder...
As this was an experimental exercise I bought some Gibbs brand spray and used that to help clean frame.
I want to see what it's like long term with a wipe over every now and then.
I did look into boiled linseed oil, various waxes, penetrol and such like.
Finished prepping the frame and forks.....its not immaculate but certainly got character....:)
Quite like the grey gear of the lx570 so chainset and derailleurs were used.
