Can I just clarify this: my Raleigh has pre-2001 9-speed Mirage. Is that the same cable pull as new stuff? Edit: gotcha, cross post hamster.

That'll be the way to go then. The dt levers and derailleurs are made for 8 I believe.

Thanks for the comments. I even contemplated selling it earlier in the year, with kids it doesn't see the expeditions it deserves any more. Couldn't do it. Just weekends with a tent at the moment. Hope I can still find Campag 8 when the present block goes south.
