    For those interested (or not) I have found out: This all aluminum grid design pedal style was issued during WW2 for CCM (Canada Cycle and Motor Ltd) along with a cast steel model. These products were made in lieu of the typical rubber pedal block style due to a shortage of rubber. Interesting.
