    Old MBUK retail ads

Might of been asked before and sounds a bit boring but did anybody have a favorite or go-to Retail shop advert from back in the day? Mine were Super Cycles and Merlin, Merlin used to do the deals for pairs of wheels very cheap. And i loved the way Super Cycles listed all the Shimano stuff at...

Raleigh Dyna Tech appreciation and information thread

Hi, Any progress with this yet? Quite rare these, i had one in `96, in blue stickered up as Dyna-Tech Cromo Comp. Yours looks all original apart from the fork. They originally came with a triple butted spinner rigid fork. I seem to recall a Raleigh rep saying these were a rebadged M-Trax...

    Shimano Positron

Hi there, Was chatting at the weekend with an old colleague and mentor of mine from the Lbs. He reminded me of Positron gearing and how it was my baptism of fire when i started in the early nineties. Anyone remember or even still have a positron equipped bike, i seem to recall it being a real...

    Show me your Raleigh's

Hi, Nice ride. Possibly a German made Raleigh as i have not come across these before. Unusual for a Raleigh of this period to not use a lugged and brazed Reynolds steel frame. As you say the groupset dates it around 1989-90. Does the Cro-Mo frame sticker give any other information? Cheers Andy

    23" Raleigh Yukon

Very nice ride, This is the 2nd incarnation of the Yukon from about 1992 the original was the orange and yellow colour scheme. I dont think they changed much, it looks like this is running Shimano 300lx and im sure the original had 200gs groupset. Forgot how huge those 23" frames are,

Anyone Know Anything About Dawes One Track's?

Probably be a `92 model if its Reynolds 500. This was my 1st year working in a Dawes retailer i seem to remember them selling for £299 ish. Think they were specced with Shimano 200gs sti. I did have a later `94 model which had Dawes own Cro-mo Frame not Reynolds. Dawes Mountain bike range from...

Whats your favorite early 90's suspension fork

Well we are on the subject, anyone remember or even own a Ballistic branded fork? I worked in a Dawes dealership and Dawes fitted Ballistic 300s to a popular model and we must have had 10 plus pairs returned for bent stanchions alas to say the next year Dawes dropped Ballistic.

    Raleigh M-Trax Reynolds Optima MTB

Nice bikes, I had one back in`96 but it was stickered up as a Dyna Tech Cromo comp. Bit of a parts bin special, Reynolds optima frame with threaded spinner forks and a mix of stx/stx rc and gripshift. Only available to Raleigh 5* dealers. It was a fair bit lighter than my Mtrax k2.

    Can you IDENTIFY this Raleigh?

Hi there, the bike you have there is a 1994 Raleigh Exodus, from memory they retailed for about £275 and were top of the standard Raleigh mountain bike range. Generally the same spec as the slightly cheaper Amazon model but with the Girvin flex stem. I think they were specced with the Shimano...
