Building up an 80's dawes galaxy and need some adjustible canti's to fit older style narrow forks and can cope with about 4mm of adjustment for 27" to 700c. I'm usually over amongst the road stuff but figured these were hugely common mtb kit that you lot must have a few of these in parts bin...

Re: The rear will need 4mm adjustment to run 700c wheels so would be handy to have that. Other option would be just remove bosses and fit tektros, but its a bit drastic if theres brakes out there. Been suggested suntour xc sports to. Just measured the 55-73 extra long brakes would also work...

I need a set of cantis that will do an 86 galaxy. I want 700c so will need to be adjustible too, thinking old deore lx, xt or stx should do? Front fork is 700c so its grand. Could someone link me the right ones before i post a wanted advert?

Re: I've had an idea, my friend has a great brompton with no paint but with gloss lacquer over it. I might just do this with the frame in the local powdercoaters and see how I like it.

Re: Nope, I've not ridden it yet. I had in my head the idea of building a tourer with a road triple so it could double for audax. I bought a 9 speed 105 triple partial groupset and figured tiagra with a319 wheels. Now back in reality, I think credit card touring etc is as mad as its getting...

I'm after a frame to build up for longer rides but also with the option to fit mudguards and a rack for light touring. something with braze ons for the above and maybe cantis.

Recently bought a ciocc, upon inspection the stays are stamped "fangio". its obviously not a new spray job, I thought fangio was belgian? Unless its just a case of respray an new decals on a different frame? hmmm. I know ciocc did a few concords.
